Orlinka - apple of early ripening of fruits

The remarkable summer variety of the Orlinka apple tree is universal: its apples are famous for their excellent taste, and the tree, in addition to decorative qualities, has an excellent ability to produce generous harvests annually. This publication is devoted to this culture, its preferences and peculiarities of cultivation.

Variety description

Orlynka is an apple tree, beloved by many Russian gardeners who claim that it is more unpretentious to find a fruit tree than this variety, which is regionalized for the territories of the Central Chernozem region with its uneasy climatic conditions, is impossible. It is distinguished by its low winter hardiness and is successfully cultivated in the suburbs of Moscow, Orel, Perm, Kaliningrad and Vladimir regions, but in more severe areas (in the Urals and Siberia), it is irrational to grow a tree.

Orlinka - an apple tree, the photo of which is shown in the article - is decorative and productive. Ease of care, annual abundant yields and palatability are the main advantages of this fast-growing variety. The apples harvest coincides with the celebration of the Orthodox apple spas on August 19-20. Despite a short consumer period of 2-3 weeks (after all, many early varieties are practically not kept), the fruits are eaten or processed with remarkable speed. For short storage, apples can be placed in wooden boxes and, with chips, pour into the basement with an air temperature of + 2-6 ° C. Short terms of storage of fruits assume and their accommodation in a refrigerator, but in polyethylene packages apples do not stack.

The yield of culture is very high, from one young tree up to 30 kg of fruit is harvested during the summer season. Orlynka - the apple tree is self-fertilized and does not need pollinators, itself often acts in this role for other varieties. Next to it will be good to bear Papilovka, Grushovka Moscow or Melb.

When to plant apple trees

Early varieties, including Orlinka (apple tree, the description of which is presented in the publication), are often planted in late spring, when positive temperatures are established and frosts recede. If necessary, spend and autumn planting, but do it in early September, so that the seedling had time to take root before the arrival of real cold.

The choice of a landing site is taken seriously, since the tree grows noticeably better and fructifies in open solar areas with loose, neutral, water- and air-permeable loamy soils without the near standing of groundwater. It is desirable that the selected places are located from the south, south-east or south-west side of the garden.

Features of landing

After determining the place, prepare a landing pit of standard dimensions - 0,4 * 0,4 m. The surface layer of the soil is mixed with 10 kg of humus, 300 grams. Wood ash and 50 gr. Superphosphate. With this mixture fill the pit by one-third, pouring it with a slide. Seedling is planted in the center of the pit, gently spreading the roots down this improvised mound, covered with the remaining soil and tamped well (by no means by feet). The root neck should be above the soil level by 3-5 cm. It can not be deepened - it will affect negatively on the apple-tree. With the correct planting, the young tree gives the first fruits already for 4-5 years of life.

Care of the culture

It is not difficult to care for summer varieties, all activities are simple and understandable even for a beginner gardener. Not an exception and the apple tree Orlinka. The responses of knowledgeable gardeners unanimously emphasize the fact that it is not difficult to grow this fruit tree, it is only necessary to adhere to certain rules.

Watering

Water the apple tree regularly, but it is reasonable, because excess moisture causes it to damage significantly. To remove excess moisture, gardeners practice the groove device for its outflow in the trunk circle. When the hot dry weather comes, the intensity of irrigation is increased, and they are spent exclusively in the evening. The soil under the tree is periodically loosened, removing the weeds and fragments of their roots. Loosening strengthens the aeration of the roots and stimulates their growth. In autumn it is necessary to remove the fallen leaves. Particular attention is paid to young plants.

Feeding

Orlynka - an apple tree, which in the first year of life in the garden is not necessary to feed - it will be enough nutrients obtained by planting. Fertilizers will be introduced starting next year. The plant needs a complex of mineral substances - potassium, nitrogen and phosphorus. Beginning with the age of 4-5 years in the trunks are added carbamide and humates or well-reparted manure. The best way to apply fertilizers is to dissolve them in water for irrigation.

Trimming

Another obligatory caring procedure for fruit trees is pruning. This fully applies to such a variety as Orlinka. The apple tree for the winter bears losses: branches break down and freeze, the bark is damaged. In the spring, before the plant grows in growth, unhealthy, sick, old, broken and improperly growing (in the center of the tree) branch are removed by a sharp pruner. The young plant needs shaping pruning, it is during this period that the crown is given the correct shape, determining the main branches and regulating the growth of the lateral shoots. Thus, thinning the crown, minimize the occurrence of infections and the attack of various pests. For winter, the plant is prepared especially carefully: they clean the soil under the tree, mulch the stump with a thick layer of humus or wood chips, protect the young stems from rodents, overlaying them with spruce lapnik.

These are the characteristics of growing an excellent early variety called Orlinka. The apple tree, the description of which we have presented, with a minimum of care gives excellent yields of delicious and, indisputably, useful fruits.
