Onions are an irreplaceable vegetable garden. It is a storehouse of vitamins, all kinds of useful substances, an ornament of any meat, fish, vegetable dish. Onions or green in Russian cuisine is used very widely.

Onion is an unpretentious plant. In time it is collected, well dried, it is stored all winter. And in the spring at home, just "planted" in jars of water, gives early greens.

In our garden and garden farms, on private plots, onions are grown outdoors. Landing onions is possible in spring and autumn. Some mistresses plant greens in summer.

Culture refers to biennial plants and propagates by seeds. In the first year, small onions grow - onion onions. Planting material should be benign, without rot, deterioration, well dried. Sevok is chosen if possible of the same size, 1-2 cm in diameter. Such selection ensures uniform shoots. If the bulbs are very different in size, then first put those that are larger, then medium, in the last place - small.

Correct landing onions involves preparing the planting material in advance: it is heated. 2-3 days you need to hold the battery in the battery or in some other warm place (30-40 degrees). On the eve of planting at night, it is necessary to soak the bulbs in a solution (one tablespoon per ten liters of water) of any complex fertilizer.

Ten-minute soaking in the solution (one teaspoon per ten liters of water) of copper sulphate will avoid the development of fungal diseases. In order to get a quick green "feather", you can cut off the top of the bulbs, but to get full-blown bulbs, this should not be done. Washed bulbs put in prepared beds.

In the garden for this culture is given a sunny, dry place. The soil must be loose, light, well drained. This plant does not like acidic soils, so when acidity is high, lime is introduced into the soil, where the onion is planned to be planted. It is not necessary to plant this culture year after year in the same place. Bad for onion predecessors: onions, garlic, carrots, cucumbers. It grows well and develops on the place where beans (peas, beans), tomatoes, cabbage used to grow.

If you plan to plant onions in spring, then the beds are prepared in the fall.

Organic fertilizers are introduced during digging. Compost, peat, humus are used. Calculation of the application of fertilizers per 1 square meter - at least three kilograms of organic matter, wood ash, nitrophos, superphosphate - one tablespoon.

Before planting, for two or three days, the garden is watered with a solution of copper sulfate at a rate of two liters per square meter. This solution should be more saturated than for soaking - one tablespoon per ten liters of water. Treatment will be more effective if you cover the bed with black film after watering.

Sowok put in warmed soil (not below 12 degrees of heat), otherwise the bow forms an arrow and will not give a good harvest. In northern latitudes the required temperature is typical for the second decade of May. Sowok planted at a depth of at least 4 cm according to the scheme of 25x10 cm. After planting, the bed is watered abundantly.

Landing onions for the winter among truck farmers is becoming increasingly popular. The beds for autumn planting are made slightly higher than under spring, but otherwise the preparation is the same: digging, loosening, fertilization, selection and processing of planting material. Plant a pzimniy onion according to the known scheme of 25x10 centimeters, to a depth of 4-5 cm.

When autumn planting the main thing is not to make mistakes with the terms. It must be finished before the soil freezes, so that the onion is rooted until wintering. But if it is done early, the bulbs will germinate to frost and the crop will die.

After planting, the bed should be well covered with dry leaves or hay, and covered with lapnik on top. In the spring, as soon as the snow comes down, the shelter should be removed, so that the bed is warmed up well.
