Omegovers is not a genre for everyone. What is omegavers?

Omegaers is considered to be a nightmare of fanficshen, although inquisitive researchers boldly draw parallels with the work of recognized science fiction writers. For example, Isaac Asimov has a novel "Themselves", where a planet with three-sexed inhabitants is mentioned. Sergei Snegov in the novel-trilogy "People as gods" slips an idea with six sexes. Thus, the thought itself is old enough, but omega- vers are a product of fanficence.

The fandom of the series "Supernatural" can boast of having enriched fanficence with a new genre. This is a controversial phenomenon, which many assess sharply negative, although it is worth a look at this topic without bias.

Special genre: omegavers

First of all, it must be borne in mind that under the Omega-Universe is meant a separate Universe, which has a very remote relation to traditional human society. No author can claim the absolute correctness of the explanation, for omega- vers are primarily a genre that grew out of the warnings of AU (an alternative universe) and kink (oddities, deviations). Therefore, each author is free to change it at his own discretion.

If you take as the primary source the first ever written omegavers, then there are three sexes: alpha, beta and omega. Partly the hierarchy is written off with a wolf or a dog pack, but here the opinions differ. Since Omega was initially considered a kind of PWP (Porn without Plot), then the genre has a significant accent on the description of sexual functions. A distinctive feature of omega is from time to time the occurring heat, when the omega begins to secrete pheromones, which drive all the surrounding alf from the mind and, possibly, bet. The estrus is accompanied by the release of a large amount of mucus secretion, which is commonly called "lubricant" - it acts as a natural lubricant. If we consider that in the overwhelming majority of cases single-sex relations between males are described, then this is important.

Is it possible to omegaverse plot?

If you use the literary approach, once voiced by Stephen King: "what if you do this", it would be a mistake to believe that this genre is written exclusively for the sake of PWP. Despite the fact that in the Omega Universe the description of sexual relations takes up a lot of space, it is interesting for some authors to construct twisted and sometimes paradoxical plots. For example, you can retreat from the stamp, according to which the alpha is necessarily large and aggressive, and the omega is brittle and effeminate.

Many authors use this plot twist as an attempt to fight their own nature. Omega tries to hide his status, using all sorts of tricks: from special medicines that suppress heat, to attempts to escape. Alpha tries to keep the cold head and not succumb to the mighty power of pheromones. You can fight against prejudiced society or extreme events. In one the readers agree: a good author can write an interesting fanfic for any universe, even if it is an omega- vers.
