Nissan Elgrand - the king of minivans

The size of the car Nissan Elgrand really makes an impression. This Japanese minivan was released in 1997 and is still produced, however, with some modifications.

Advantages and disadvantages

The main difference between Nissan Elgrand was the front-wheel drive, which was first used by the company in cars of this type. Also, the previous models had several significant drawbacks.

First, an uncomfortable high floor, resulting from the location directly above the transmission.

Secondly, the difficult landing in the car in connection with the same high floor and absence of a step.

In the Nissan Elgrand, all these shortcomings were corrected: due to the transition to the front drive and the disappearance of the cardan shaft, the floor dropped by as much as 129 millimeters, and it became much easier to sit down. In addition, the entire car became lower by 95 millimeters and acquired a less bulky appearance.

But on the other hand, no matter how hard the designers try, the car looks more massive than elegant. This was used by marketers, creating catchy advertising slogans: "Allows you to look down on," "Creates a strong presence effect."

Interior Design

The salon is designed for seven people. Interesting is the specific curved structure of the backs of the seats and the presence of leg supports for each passenger.

Like most minivans, Nissan Elgrand has three rows of seats. The third row is enlarged, and the sliding door has a unique electronic control located outside - this technology has no analogues anywhere in the world.

In connection with the fact that the entire car became lower, the maximum height of the lift of the driver's seat increased, so that drivers of low growth could feel as comfortable as possible.

Due to the fact that the model has evolved from a multi-purpose to a passenger one, changes have been introduced to ensure maximum comfort for all passengers. As already mentioned, all seats are equipped with a retractable leg support, which allows the legs to stand on the floor and only supports the calves.

Safety in Nissan Elgrand Too at the appropriate level: too high to raise the support or lower the back of the chair can not, because this would affect the functioning of the seat belts.

If you take into account all these features, it becomes obvious that the model outperforms not only its predecessors, but also all its competitors in terms of comfort level.

Nissan Elgrand 2011

In 2011, the car was slightly modified. It became longer, taller and wider, and the wheelbase size became 3000 millimeters.

Outside, little has changed, except that there is even more chrome in the grille.

For many years the car managed to lose its popularity in the world market a little, and by this restyling the company hopes to return the model to its former glory. One of the innovations is that now the car is produced only with the right-hand drive and exclusively on the domestic market.
