New development: the plane with a removable cab. Is it realistic?

Airplanes on hydrogen fuel, self-healing aircraft, aircraft that feed on energy created by the heat of the human body ... The world of aircraft that do not yet exist, but which may appear in the near future, is actually rich. Now the Ukrainian inventor Vladimir Tatarenko has added to this collection a new concept - he has a passenger compartment that is detached from the very hull of the aircraft, if the situation gets out of control.

New concept

The idea is that in case of an emergency the pilots can press the button, which will allow the passenger compartment, along with the people and luggage in it, to separate from the rest of the aircraft and descend through the attached parachutes. The pilots themselves, it seems, will not be able to share the happy fate of the passengers. You can ask - what happens if the passenger compartment descends to the water? Inflatable tubes are immediately activated to support it on the surface.

Does the concept have a future?

Based on the video that Tatarenko posted on YouTube last month, he is currently in the search for investors for his project. But before you are ready to sponsor a new project, pay attention to the opinions of aviation experts who consider this concept to be extremely unrealistic. First, the cost of building and testing such an aircraft will be simply transcendental. Airlines already spend between $ 100 and $ 350 million per aircraft - and this is without the cost of its annual maintenance. Naturally, they will not have much desire to replace reliable aircraft with an unchecked novelty, especially given that accidents in the air happen rarely, and even less often they lead to fatalities. For example, in 2014, which is considered one of the most tragic lately, out of 3,3 billion passengers, only 641 died.
