Myocardial hypoxia: symptoms and treatment

Hypoxia of the myocardium is oxygen starvation of the heart muscle - the myocardium. It can be caused by strong physical stress, stress, bad habits, such as smoking, alcoholism, and also due to work in harmful production. A characteristic feature is the reduction in oxygen delivery to the myocardium. In normal operation of the body, its content in tissues ranges from 90 to 100%, with violations it can fall to 60%. Myocardial hypoxia is most often caused by the following diseases: angina, heart attack, atherosclerosis, anemia, ischemic heart disease. Lack of oxygen significantly disturbs the breathing of the heart muscle cells and their functioning. This, in turn, leads to tissue death, in other words - necrosis. All these serious changes in the heart muscle lead to a heart attack.

Myocardial hypoxia symptoms are fairly pronounced. It all starts with frequent heartbeats - tachycardia. The human body compensates for the lack of oxygen due to the increased work of the heart. There is fatigue, weakness, changeable mood, shortness of breath, decreased appetite and disability, sweating, pain in the chest . The contractility of the myocardium is gradually weakening. As a result, there is an arrhythmia, often resulting in ventricular fibrillation. Hypoxia of the myocardium in the initial stage is manifested by sharp pressure drops. It should not be forgotten that both cardiac and respiratory systems suffer from oxygen starvation.

Today, various methods and means are used to prevent and treat this dangerous disease. An important role in preventing or weakening the effects of myocardial hypoxia on man is played by antihypoxants - drugs that restore energy processes in tissues. They help to restore the functionality of broken cells. So, for example, antihypoxants of direct action affect the energy metabolism in the myocardium and have antianginal, antiarrhythmic and cardioprotective effects. Widespread and known drugs of this group are: "Actovegin", "Amtizol", "Inosine", "Lithium oxy butyrate", "Trimetazidine" ("Preductal", "Phosphocreatine"). However, it is important, first of all, to find out the cause that caused such a serious disease as myocardial hypoxia.
Treatment can be combined with outdoor walks, special diets, visits to the sanatorium. Also remarkable anti-hypoxant properties are infusions of woodlice, birch, cowberry, hawthorn.

Unfortunately, it is not always possible to diagnose the cells that have lost their energy by disturbing hypoxia at an early stage. At this stage of medical development, the issue of the newest drugs, capable of acting in several directions, is acute. The main task is to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. A person should closely monitor his health, often undergo medical examinations to avoid the development of such a serious disease that causes irreparable damage to the body, such as myocardial hypoxia.
