Periodontitis: treatment, causes, symptoms

Signs of periodontitis are familiar, unfortunately, to most people. Inflammation of the gums, ligaments and bones surrounding and holding the tooth is a very complex and difficult to treat disease. The main cause of tooth loss is periodontitis, which should be treated as early as possible. In the late stages of the disease, saving teeth is not possible, so the best way to combat periodontitis is prevention.

When there are symptoms of a disease such as periodontitis, treatment with folk remedies can only be allowed as an addition to activities conducted in a dental clinic.

Periodontitis begins with banal bleeding gums when brushing teeth or biting off an apple. Then there is swelling and redness of the gums, which gradually separate from the teeth, forming pockets, where bacteria accumulate and the tartar is deposited. Gums raspiruet, there are pains when chewing and touching. Between the teeth, crevices are formed, they are more and more exposed to the root, pus from the pockets, an unpleasant odor from the mouth appears , the teeth become mobile. At the last stage they begin to fall out. In this case, not only the gums suffer, but bone tissue also decreases, which can become an obstacle for prosthetics and implantation of teeth.

The causes of the appearance of periodontitis are diverse and ambiguous. There are many factors that all in aggregate or individually can cause this disease. It can be hereditary predisposition, diseases of the cardiovascular, digestive, endocrine system, dentoalveolar anomalies, improper metabolism, decreased immunity, stress, allergies, beriberi. The most common reason for the development of periodontitis is unsatisfactory hygiene. As a result of poor oral care, the living organisms of the microbes living there are deposited in the dentogingival pockets in the form of a stone, destroying the soft and then hard periodontal tissues. The disease can develop as a result of various injuries, unsuccessful orthopedic and orthodontic treatment, the establishment of seals with defects.

If there is periodontitis, treatment at home is not the best way. Only the doctor will be able to conduct the examination and make the correct diagnosis. The treatment of periodontitis will depend on the causes of the onset; From the prevalence in the mouth: local or throughout the cavity; From the nature of the course: acute or chronic; Severity.

As already mentioned, prevention is the best remedy for all diseases. Preventing periodontitis is brushing your teeth twice a day, removing food leftovers between your teeth, rinsing your mouth after eating, stopping smoking, improving immunity, eating well, visiting a dentist or dentist twice a year, and timely treatment of carious teeth.

The beginning periodontitis, which is treated with therapeutic methods, can still be suspended. But from now on, the oral cavity will require constant increased attention.

Therapeutic treatment begins with a careful removal of tartar , washing pockets and laying in them a medicine. The patient is prescribed anti-inflammatory balms, gels, mouthwashes, immunomodulating medications. The doctor selects toothpaste, which prevents the formation of dental deposits, and teaches proper oral hygiene. After an acute period has passed, it is recommended to undergo a course of physiotherapy.

When teeth appear to move, a splint can be shown. To prevent the teeth from loosening, they are fixed, tying together into one block.

If the disease is not given importance in the early stages, then more severe periodontitis will develop, the treatment of which is possible only surgically. Such operations are called patchwork. The gum is cut, the flap formed is separated from the jaw, the deep deposits are removed and the root of the tooth is ground. If bone tissue is affected, then replace it with special materials. Then the gingival flap is returned to the place and stitches are applied.

Unreleased periodontitis, the treatment of which can be carried out in conjunction with folk methods, is completely cured in an integrated approach. For the prevention and treatment of periodontitis for a long time using decoctions and tinctures of plants. For rinses apply the bark of oak, St. John's wort, yarrow, calendula, cranberry leaves, tea mushroom, birch buds. One of the ways to combat inflammation is gum massage with sea buckthorn oil and fir. It is recommended to eat more fruits and vegetables that contain vitamin C.
