Museum-estate "Botik Petra 1" (Pereslavl-Zalessky)

This glorious Russian city is the recognized cradle of the great Russian navy, founded by Tsar Peter I.

From the history

Once, in 1688, a young Peter the Great discovered a young Peter the Great in one of the farm buildings of the tsar's estate. Today he is in the honorary custody of the Naval Museum in our northern capital. Often, history lovers ask the question: "What do you call the boat of Peter the Great?" So, it was this ship that later became known as the "Grandfather of the Russian Fleet".

On this boat, the young king began to master the subtleties of the ship's control on the Yauza River. When in the beginning of the XVII century the navy of the country appeared and the first victories were won, the Tsar of All Russia ordered to transport the boat to Petersburg and issued a decree on this matter.

On the Neva and the Gulf of Finland, the boat was solemnly welcomed, including ambassadors of foreign countries. At the helm stood the great Reformed Tsar himself, with admirals of the fleet sitting on the oars. "Grandfather of the Russian Fleet" was greeted with guns from cannons, drum beats. According to the decree of Peter, it was necessary to keep ships forever, on which he began to study the marine business.

Floating Flotilla

In 1688, Peter I came to Pereslavl and was fascinated by the size and beauty of Pleshcheyev Lake. The sixteen-year-old king decided to build a comic flotilla here.

To study the ship business from Holland, the best masters were written out. The youngest tsar himself took the most active part in the construction of ships.

In the spring of 1689, the first ship was launched onto the water, and in the summer of 1692 there were already a lot of ships at the shipyard. They were equipped with artillery. On them the amusing troops of the Tsar were trained in conducting military operations and navigating.

The death of a comic fleet

As a result of the fierce fire of 1783, all the ships of the flotilla were burnt. Survived only the boat "Fortune", which, according to legend, was built by Peter I himself. During the fire, he was kept in a room on Mount Gremyach, not far from the royal Palace, and did not stand on the lake with other ships.

In 1803, IM Dolgorukov, the governor of Vladimir, ordered the construction of a building in which the Fortuna bot could be kept. From this began its history Museum "Botik Peter 1", which preserved for descendants and history a ship built by Peter I.

Reconstruction of Peter I

It is necessary to say that many modern masters are trying to create a vessel from the flotilla of Peter I, using ancient designs. Botik Peter 1 was made in Petrozavodsk. The construction was timed to coincide with the 300th anniversary of the Russian fleet. The creation of the vessel became the original thesis work of ten young and talented masters, graduates of the school at the MIKC.

The Novotel of the historical boutique, which was created in Petrozavodsk, is an indispensable participant of city holidays.

Rotunda

In the ensemble of the museum the special interest and admiration of the visitors is caused by the rotunda. It recreates the interior of the Petrine era to the smallest details . Today in this building fascinating theatrical programs and various exhibitions are held. The exposition of the museum includes details of vessels of the first Russian fleet - a bronze eagle, a cauldron for resin, elements of ship gear, parts of the clockwork.

Museum "Botik Peter 1" for a long time restored. The Rotunda Hall was in desolation. This building was built for receptions. It was created in memory of the great Russian ruler - Peter I. Funds for its construction were collected by the nobles of the Vladimir province.

Today, in the reconstructed building with restored interiors of Peter's times, which, according to the general opinion of visitors, is decorated with the Museum "Botik Peter 1", a permanent exhibition is held. It is represented by various works of art, in which famous masters perpetuated the bright image of the tsar-reformer. Peter I appears in various images - from the carpenter tsar to the "Roman emperor", whose head is crowned with a laurel wreath.

Bottle "Fortune"

A unique exhibit, which is rightfully proud of the Botik Peter 1 Museum in Pereslavl, is the Fortuna boat, the last ship that survived during the fire. Judging by the annals, the boat was made by the hands of young Peter I. The used material is pine, oak. Its length is 7.34 m. The width of the ship is 2.38 m. This is a single-masted ten-seater boat of the Dutch type. At manufacture the boat was carefully pierced, covered with resin, and then painted. The control was carried out by a hinged steering wheel, which had an iron tiller.
