In the modern world, democratic forms of government are widespread , such as a parliamentary or presidential republic. But at the same time, there is forty one countries where the monarchy has survived, and it has various forms. European countries with a monarchy are the Vatican, Monaco and Liechtenstein. There is this form of government in Africa. You can call Lesotho, Morocco and Swaziland. The modern monarchy has many faces, and is entrenched both in the Middle East and in a democratic Europe. For example, a constitutional monarchy, when the king has minimal power or the monarch is completely deprived of it, and retains his throne as a tribute to the traditions: Great Britain, Japan. But, at the same time, there are countries with an absolute monarchy, in which all the fullness of power is concentrated in the hands of one ruler. This is discussed in the article.

Absolute monarchy is its characteristic

The form of government, called absolute monarchy, is characterized by the fact that one man rules the country. Legislative power, as well as executive and judicial, is concentrated in the hands of the monarch. You can mention such countries with An absolute monarchy, like Saudi Arabia, Oman, the Principalities of the United Arab Emirates, Qatar.

The country is ruled by a monarch, in which an advisory body or parliament operates (it includes the most respected persons). However, all decisions of the latter, however, require the consent of the crowned person. The role of the constitution is played by the holy book of Muslims - the Koran. The family council in the Arab forms of absolute monarchy is an informal institution, where apart from the monarch's relatives there are well-known experts of the Koran. There were cases when a family council (for example, in Saudi Arabia) deposed the king, and in his place a new member of the family was elected. The monarch not only rules the country, but also unites the secular and spiritual authority, occupying the highest order. He is considered an imam in a country where the Muslim religion is recognized as a state religion. Therefore, the modern absolute monarchy existing in the Middle East is called absolutist-theocratic.

Despite the fact that countries with absolute monarchy were formed on the basis of the feudal aristocracy, they are now flourishing due to oil wealth. Most of the power is concentrated among the big financial bourgeoisie. The countries of the Persian Gulf, where the monarchy is preserved and there is no parliament and constitution, have turned their citizens into quite wealthy people. For example, there is a publicly available free medicine, free training and content in the most prestigious educational institutions in the world. The state provides housing for young families. Arab countries with absolute monarchy are social states aimed at increasing the well-being of the people.

Sultanate of Oman

Considering countries with absolute monarchy, we can stop as an example on the Sultanate of Oman. This state, located in South-West Asia, has no constitution, its role is fulfilled by the Koran. The government is chosen by the monarch himself. It is called the Council of State. Its first meeting was held in 1998. In addition to him there is also the Council of Shura, whose leader is appointed by the king. The Shura Council is responsible for discussing five-year plans for development, taking care of the environment, appealing to the Sultan with an expression of his opinion. Only the Sultan can decide international affairs. The posts of major government officials, prime ministers, governors usually belong to the relatives of the king.

What is the monarchy superior to other forms of government? First of all, it is an opportunity to provide the country with integrity and balance it. Of course, this form of government can not automatically solve all economic, social and political issues. But at the same time, states with absolute monarchy represent stable education on a political and social level.
