Sultanate of Oman

The government is chosen by the monarch himself. It is called the Council of State. Its first meeting was held in 1998. In addition to him there is also the Council of Shura, whose leader is appointed by the king. The Shura Council is responsible for discussing five-year plans for development, taking care of the environment, appealing to the Sultan with an expression of his opinion. Only the Sultan can decide international affairs. The posts of major government officials, prime ministers, governors usually belong to the relatives of the king.

What is the monarchy superior to other forms of government? First of all, it is an opportunity to provide the country with integrity and balance it. Of course, this form of government can not automatically solve all economic, social and political issues.
