MGU University: student feedback, faculty

In 6 years the Moscow Pedagogical State University will celebrate a century and a half. At the time of Emperor Alexander II, it was called the Moscow Higher Women's Courses, it was the first Russian university where women of any class could receive higher education, until that time Russian women studied only abroad. MPGU, reviews of which in many cases are written with tears in their eyes by alumni-masters graduating, or by students telling about their problems and achievements, has always been on top.

History

At first the program of courses was designed for two years and did not provide for any specializations, mainly history and philology were taught. There were courses in different buildings, even in the Polytechnic Museum. By 1885, the listener was already more than two hundred - very much for those harsh years.

For some time the courses did not have a set: there was a format of public lectures organized by the Moscow Society of Teachers and Teachers. And in 1900, they finally got the state status. At the same time, two faculties were established: the historical-philological and the physico-mathematical. Celebrities

Vladimir Vernadsky - the founder of many sciences, the famous researcher of the biosphere, in 1905 he was elected director of the WWJC, a professor who founded a mineralogical museum. Then the courses were headed by Sergey Chaplygin - the founder of hydro-aerodynamics, who later became an academician of the USSR Academy of Sciences. With him, the educational institution has significantly expanded, faculties of all scientific directions of that time were opened. Of course, this educational institution has not yet become the MGPU, the reviews about which the students are writing now.

Vladimir Shukhov - the most famous architect designed the glass roof of house number 1 on Malaya Pirogovskaya Street, and in 1913 the auditorium was opened there. The professors of history at the courses were Vasily Klyuchevsky and Ivan Tsvetaev, who was not only the father of Marina Tsvetaeva, but also the creator of the Museum of Fine Arts (now the Pushkin Museum).

Founders of Sciences

Physics with the listeners was Alexey Stoletov - an outstanding electrical engineer and physicist, astronomy - Fedor Bredikhin, who created the national astrophysical school and former director of the Pulkovo Observatory, chemistry - Nikolai Zelinsky, whose invention (coal gas mask) saved many lives in the First World War. To date, the university has eighteen faculties and branches in Bryansk, Chelyabinsk, Novosibirsk, Krasnodar and Ulyanovsk. One of the oldest in the MGPU is the Geographical Faculty. Reviews about it are most favorable, in spite of the fact that the university's material base can frankly wish for the best. Today there is a team of creative like-minded people at all five departments where physical geography and geoecology, geology and geochemistry of the landscape, economic and social geography, theory and methodology of teaching geography, foreign languages are studied. Graduates of the geophysics work everywhere: from the oil business to journalism and, of course, in schools.

On practice, students travel to different regions: from Kaliningrad to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, and then write rave reviews. After graduation, graduates work everywhere. These are educational institutions of various levels: from preschool to higher, any linguistic institutions - in the field of marketing, advertising services and PR, the media market, periodicals, radio and television channels. More than a thousand students of the faculty study on an unparalleled methodology with cycles of general humanitarian disciplines and natural sciences.

In addition to general professional, there are special disciplines, for example, literature of the country, the language of which is studied and others. The faculty, unlike others, is equipped for classes quite well: there is a sound engineering laboratory, video classes, cabinets are specially equipped, including a computer class.
