Methods of treatment of viral warts

Warts are neoplasms of a viral nature that form in any area of the skin. Most often they are formed on the hands, soles of the feet, neck, face. It was found that they arise because of HPV (human papilloma virus), which has more than 100 species, some of which are capable of causing malignant tumors. You can not be too frivolous to treat such growths, and it is best to contact a dermatologist for their treatment. In this article, we will try to understand what viral warts are, the photos of which will also be presented.

Types of warts

There is a large number of such growths. There are 4 large groups of viral warts:

  • Plantar. These formations are quite dense, which arise on the palms and soles of the feet. Such papillomas have injured capillaries, which are characterized by soreness, because the plantar wart grows always inside.
  • Flat. These growths in diameter are no more than 3 mm and have a yellowish color. The type of such papillomas is polygonal. They are formed mainly on the chest, face, neck, folds of legs and hands.
  • Anogenital. This kind of outgrowth is formed on the mucous membranes of the genital organs, in the perianatal region and near the anus. And after infection warts appear not immediately, but only after 1-6 months.
  • Papillomatous. These warts are the least common and occur mainly in young children, and rapidly grow inside the larynx. Treatment should be started immediately, because the probability of developing airway obstruction is high.

How does the virus penetrate the body?

The appearance of viral warts provokes the infection of the pathogen on the skin, which has any damage, and quite small. Various scratches, scrapes, burrs are the entrance gate for the virus. The source of infection is flakes of flat epithelium, which are rejected from the affected skin. Such flakes can contain up to 200 viral replicas. A dead cell with a virus in it penetrates the skin of a healthy person. The development of this virus begins to occur, and its intensity depends on the stability of human immunity. Warts can form, a person can become a healthy carrier, or the virus dies without causing any harm.

In which cases can I pick up warts? Viral disease occurs if the pathogen has entered the body when visiting such public rest areas as saunas, SPA-salons, swimming pools. Also common are the household and sexual modes of transmission from a person who is a carrier of the virus. You can get infected from pets and by using the things of a person with HPV.

Symptoms of Warts

Many people are sure that the appearance of viral warts occurs suddenly, since on clean skin the next day there may appear a formation the size of a millet seed. In fact, papillomas grow very slowly, hiding under a layer of epidermis. Color is also no different from healthy skin, only after a while the warts begin to darken, acquiring gray or brownish hues.

Patients most often complain to the doctor about aesthetic discomfort. But if the build-ups are formed on their hands, they can often be injured, causing minor pain, the top of the formation is damaged, begins to get wet and bleed. Very much bothered only plantar warts. Thorny growths, crashing into the dermis, begin to injure the tissues, causing severe pain when walking. The condition can be exacerbated by the multiple growth of warts due to the spread of the infection.

Features of plantar warts

The share of plantar warts accounts for one third of all neoplasms. Treatment of such growths is best carried out in private clinics that have modern equipment and special technologies, since if the papilloma root is not completely removed or the nearest tissues are damaged, the warts will start to grow again or the daughter growths will appear on other areas of the skin.

A viral wart on the foot appears in the following cases:

  • Damage to the skin of the foot;
  • Due to diseases such as diabetes mellitus, atherosclerosis, lower limb varicose;
  • Excessive sweating of the skin of the legs or, conversely, excessive dryness;
  • Foot diseases or deformities;
  • Because of uncomfortable shoes.

Features of warts that occur on the fingers

Often on the fingers of the hands there are ordinary, or vulgar, warts, and they are considered the most harmless. However, as the disease progresses, they begin to multiply and appear on the neck, elbows and other areas of the skin. Sometimes a viral wart on the finger can hit the corners of the lips, the front sections of the oral mucosa, the tip of the tongue.

An ordinary wart located on the finger pads or the back of the palm has an uneven and dry surface covered with small cracks or villi. If she is constantly injured, then there is inflammation and pain.

Vulgar warts are most often between the fingers of the hands, on the upper hands, the back of the palm. When they are formed on the pads of the fingers or under the nail plates, a person may experience painful sensations, performing any work, as these growths are often traumatized.

Treatment of warts

If there are viral warts, treatment should be aimed at strengthening immunity, destroying the virus, removing skin formation and preventing relapses. In the presence of protective mechanisms a person may not catch or quickly overcome the disease, so his diet should be full and balanced, containing all the necessary vitamins and trace elements. The diet must include vegetable and protein foods.

Methods for treating viral warts include conservative methods using agents that have a keratolytic effect. Such drugs first soften the horny layer of the skin, which is then devitalized and after a certain period of time is removed. Very effective are ointments "Collomac" and salicylic, which easily remove viral flat warts. "Solkoderm" has in its composition such acids that mummify skin, and a dense crust disappears after a week.

Removal of warts

The most effective treatment is the removal of viral warts. The following methods are used for this:

  • Laser removal;
  • Surgical excision;
  • Electrocoagulation;
  • cryosurgery.

Such methods of treatment are used only when the growths change their color or appear heterogeneity of their surface, as well as when multiplying by papillomas. It is recommended to remove the injured warts that have a partial tear of the tissues that begin to bleed and become wet.

The most effective method of removal is cryosurgical. In this case, with liquid nitrogen, the liquid is frozen out from the build-up, after which tissue necrosis occurs . The resulting crust disappears after a while, and the removal site heals quickly enough.

Electrocoagulation is considered no less effective method. In this case, a device is used with a miniature loop or a needle that is heated under the influence of an electric current, as a result, the tissues dissect fairly easily. The procedure is very quick and carried out under local anesthesia. Electrocoagulation eliminates warts of all sizes.

Delicately removes build-up laser coagulator. The laser beam is easy to control, it does not heat the surrounding tissue, but only affects the problem area. One procedure is enough to remove any size of papillomas.

Viral warts in children

In children, such growths are formed for the following reasons:

  • Visiting the public swimming pool;
  • Through common toys;
  • When in contact with a sick child;
  • With direct contact with the infected animal.

Infection penetrates the children through microtraumas on the skin, due to the high sweating of the feet, and the prolonged wearing of wet shoes.

To treat warts use special ointments or patches. Ointment is applied to the build-up itself, and the result will be visible only after two weeks. In the absence of effect, special patches are applied, one side of which is impregnated with salicylic acid solution. From it, cut out a disk of the necessary form and glue to the built-up edge. Often, warts in children are temporary and within a year after their appearance disappear.

Conclusion

When warts appear, you should always consult a doctor and do not self-medicate. Such formations cause discomfort and painful sensations. It is strictly prohibited to delete them yourself, this can aggravate the situation. Thanks to modern technology, getting rid of viral warts can be easily and painlessly.
