Medicinal preparation Relanium - instruction, description

Synonym, as well as the active substance of the medicine "Relanium", the instruction calls diazepam. This drug, part of the clinical and pharmaceutical group, which is called - tranquilizers. Diazepam, acting depressingly on the central nervous system, has a hypnotic, sedative, anticonvulsant and muscle relaxant effect.

According to the pharmacological properties of the drug "Relanium" instruction refers to tranquilizers of the benzodiazepine series or benzodiazepines. As for the indications for the prescription of this drug, they are as follows:

• Depressive disorders, phobias;
• Alcoholic psychosis, delirium;
• Narcotic and alcohol abstinence ;
• epilepsy;
• Cervical radiculitis;
• Neurodegenerative pathologies, including trauma to the spine;
• muscle spasms;
• Premedication and others.

Form release: "Relanium" in tablets - 5 mg, "Relanium" in ampoules - 2 ml. In one ampoule contains 10 mg of diazepam - 5 mg per 1 ml of solution.

The dose of the medicine "Relanium", the instruction determines, taking into account the age, body weight of the patient and his condition. In particular, in phobias and anxiety-depressive states, the adult is administered intramuscularly or, if necessary, intravenously 2 ml of the drug (10 mg). After four hours, the injection can be repeated. A similar application when the patient has arousal or attacks of fear.

In cases of alcoholic psychosis, the presence of delirium "Relanium" is also administered intramuscularly or intravenously. Dosage in these cases can be increased to 4 ml of the drug and more. It depends on the intensity of the symptoms.
