Major injuries of the hip joints

Sports injury of the hip joints does not happen very often. The common pathology is more often diagnosed, which makes itself felt at an early age. Joint dislocation in newborns is a condition associated with underdevelopment of cartilaginous and bone tissue. Deformity of the limb is observed.

But, in addition to congenital pathology, there is also a traumatic dislocation. This is a serious condition, in which not only the joint itself is injured, but also the nerves surrounding it. In particularly difficult cases, the sensitivity in the hip area may disappear, which causes the limb to become stiff. Sometimes there is a complete lack of ability to move. In order to not further injure the bones of the hip joint, it is necessary to take a person to the hospital, providing him with complete peace. For this purpose it is recommended to use a stretcher, during transportation it is necessary to shake the patient as little as possible. A limb must be fixed.

Another type of hip injury is the dilatation of the ilio-lumbar muscle. It is located on the inner surface of the pelvis. Its function is bending. That is why any injury to this muscle immediately causes a violation in the joint. Stretching can occur as a result of sharp bending, especially with great resistance. Symptoms in this trauma are very bright. First of all, it is pain along the inner and front surface of the thigh. And with the slightest attempt to even slightly bend the leg in the hip joint, the pain sensations increase dramatically.

But the trauma of the hip joints can cause stretching not only the ilio-lumbar, but also the long adductor muscle. This is a very common injury in sports. This muscle is located on the inner surface, so stretching happens when the hip abduction exercise is incorrectly performed. This trauma is peculiar to sportsmen and players. For example, it is noted in the players (stretching occurs at the time of transfer of the ball). But especially dangerous are cases when there is a rupture or separation of the muscle. This is accompanied by a sharp pain. There is swelling and extensive bruising, which affects the joint. Such a trauma becomes chronic with time.

Disturbances in the work of the hip joints can be not only related to the adjacent muscles, but also to the trauma of the joint area itself. Most often this is the result of falls or bumps. In the region of the hip joint is not one, but as many as 13 separate articular bags. They are the areas of connective tissue surrounded by tendons and muscles. Their main function is depreciation with muscle contraction. In case of trauma, bursitis develops. At the person thus there is a hemorrhage in one or several bags. Naturally, the larger the volume of hematomas, the more extensive the subsequent inflammatory reaction. To assess the degree of damage, it is necessary to take a picture of the hip joint. Very well helps to clarify the picture and examination using an ultrasound machine.
