LSTK-technology of construction: general characteristics and advantages of LSTK

LSTK-technology is called a special alternative type of frame construction. The increased popularity of this technique in recent years is due primarily to the possibility of lowering the costs of erecting buildings and structures, as well as its environmental safety.

What is the LSTC?

Actually, the abbreviation LSTK stands for light steel thin-walled structures. The basis for the buildings built on this technology are metal curved profiles of different sections, connected by bolts. To improve the heat-saving characteristics of such houses, special elongated holes are made in the walls of the steel elements.

As a heater in a metal frame can be installed any modern insulating materials. Most often it is mineral wool or styrofoam. As the inner skin, either plasterboard or plywood is used. Outside, such buildings and structures are finished with siding, lining, board or brick.

Main areas of use

Apply LSTK (construction technology) can be erected:

  • Residential low-rise buildings;

  • Warehouses;

  • Economic buildings;

  • Production workshops;

  • Trading pavilions.

Also, this technology is often used in the reconstruction of old buildings, the construction of attic floors and the assembly of ventilated or plaster facades. LSTK-technology of construction can be used in most areas of our country. Perm, Krasnodar, Vladivostok, Moscow, Ekaterinburg - everywhere such houses will be convenient for living and will stand for a long time.

Main advantages of the technology

To the advantages of buildings and structures erected on the basis of the LSTC methodology, in the first place, one can include:

  1. Cheap. Savings are achieved due to the simplicity of design, the absence of the need for heavy equipment for installation, etc.

  2. Ease of erection. The frame buildings of the LSTC are assembled in just a few days.

  3. No need to build a powerful expensive foundation. For the manufacture of profiles, according to standards, steel can be used with a thickness of not more than 3 mm. Therefore, the frame walls erected from them weigh a little.

  4. Strength and durability. LSTK is a construction technology that allows building very stable buildings and structures. A profile is made of a cold-rolled galvanized steel sheet with a yield strength of 250 to 350 MPa. That is, the frame structure during operation will not be corroded. Sometimes for the erection of such buildings, a special galvanized profile, additionally painted or coated with a polymer composition, is also used. To connect the parts during assembly of buildings, special fasteners made of stainless or galvanized carbon steel are used.

  5. Ecological safety. Steel, like wood, does not emit any harmful substances into the environment. At the same time, harmful substances are not used for the treatment of LSTC profiles.

  6. Fire safety. Most often, when plating LSTC buildings, metal siding and plasterboard are used, and mineral wool for their insulation. All these materials, like steel itself, are non-combustible.

Frame construction on the technology of LSTK, among other things, has also such advantages:

  • Earthquake resistance of erected buildings;

  • High accuracy of assembly;

  • Excellent performance of erected structures;

  • Wide opportunities in the field of architectural planning.

Seismic resistance of LSTC

LSTK is a construction technology used, including in the construction of buildings in those areas where there is an increased risk of earthquakes. The fact is that such a profile is notable for its elasticity (due to various additional ligaments). According to the assurances of LSTC technology developers, buildings built on such a frame can withstand the earthquakes of up to 9 points without harm. Of course, most of the regions of Russia are not considered seismic dangerous. However, this strength and elasticity of the skeletons speaks of their highest quality.

Accuracy of construction

This is one of the most important advantages of LSTC technology. Design of such buildings is carried out using special computer programs 3D. All profiles are cut and packed at the production stage. That is all you need to do to builders is to assemble the wall panels from the already finished, appropriately marked material. There is no waste in building the building, and all its elements are obtained geometrically absolutely verified.

Operational characteristics

Convenience of living and doing business is another plus that distinguishes such construction of houses. Technology LSTK allows you to build really comfortable buildings. Unlike wooden ones, they never shrink and do not react to changes in air humidity. That is, even after several years of operation, there are no gaps in the walls of such structures, and the enclosing structures retain their exact geometric dimensions. All this ensures maximum heat preservation.

Possibilities in terms of architectural planning

Since the design of such structures is carried out using computers and special software, they can have an exteriors that are very different, often quite original. In addition, the technology of the LSTK allows the construction of structures without the use of intermediate supports with spans of up to 12 m, and in the case of reinforcement of structures - and up to 15 m. Thanks to this feature, the interior space of houses can be designed as rationally as possible. In addition, it makes it possible to conveniently position the elements of communication systems and build in the walls all sorts of additional segments (niches for built-in equipment, storerooms, etc.).

Which has LSTK (construction technology) cons

An indirect drawback of this technique is, by and large, only a negligible weight of the structures themselves. On heavily hardy soil in the spring, lightweight LSTK structures can rise above the ground. However, due to the strength of the material, cracks in the walls do not usually appear. In order to avoid a rise, it is recommended that a thorough geological survey be carried out before building the building.

What else has LSTC (construction technology) shortcomings? Another small drawback of this technique is that in such houses it is difficult to hang things of everyday life on walls: paintings, shelves, lockers. After all, in most cases, the inner skin on the frame of the LSTC is made of plasterboard, which has a low bearing capacity.

Features of the methods of building houses

A shallow or columnar foundation is the best varieties of grounds under the LSTK's houses. The technology of construction in this case is as follows:

  • All elements are laid out according to the installation scheme for the foundation area.

  • Waterproofing tape or poles.

  • The support profile is fixed to the concrete by means of anchor bolts. Preliminary on the foundation itself is marked.

  • On the supporting profile, all supporting wall panels are consistently mounted, according to the marking made at the enterprise.

  • A skeleton of internal walls and partitions is installed.

  • Mounted ceiling panels or rafters LSTK. The former are often not used. In this case, the bottom of the trusses serve as the basis for the ceiling.

The construction of buildings using LSTK technology is completed with the installation of a heater and wall cladding.

Features of the assembly of ventilated and plaster facades

These elements are used primarily to improve the appearance of buildings and their heat-saving properties. LSTK-profile for the construction of ventilated facades and roofs is used to assemble the frame. The thickness of the elements in this case is determined by the material used to erect the enclosing structures, as well as the area of the latter.

Traditional ventilated facades of LSTC are built using simple technology. That is, first the frame itself is mounted, then the insulation plates are installed. At the next stage the facade is covered with a diffusion film. Further, additional elements are installed for the arrangement of the ventilating layer and the skin is made.

In addition to the construction of traditional, LSTC-profile can be used for erection of plaster facades. The latter can be light or heavy, insulated or simple. They are also built using conventional technology. First, a profile frame is attached to the wall. Further sheets of expanded polystyrene are installed. Then, plastering is carried out using a paint net.

Assembling of floors

Intermediate floors - structures for the construction of which is also used LSTK (construction technology). In Ufa, St. Petersburg, Astrakhan and other cities, buildings are built with such strong and durable ceilings and floors. For the installation of ceilings, a profile having a Z or a C-shaped cross-section is usually used. Stiffness is ensured by the use of steel corners. After installing the beams, the crate is additionally assembled. A vapor barrier film is attached to it. Pre-heater can be installed. Sheeting is most often done using gypsum-fiber sheets. On the side of the attic or attic, profiled steel sheets (with rubber lining to provide noise insulation) can be attached to beams and lathing. The rough floor itself is made either from gypsum-fiber boards or from plywood.

LSTK: construction technology. Customer Reviews

The opinion about such structures from their owners has developed in general and quite good. Living in these houses is quite convenient. To the advantages of this type of construction, many relate mainly to the ease of assembly. The downside of LSTK houses is that most owners consider a very low level of noise insulation. All the shock sounds on the metal frame are carried simply instantly. Many note the fact that, for example, a person on the second floor in such a house can perfectly hear how his family members go on the first. To solve this problem, the owners of the LSTC buildings advise using special rubber gaskets when they are erected.

LSTK - construction technology (feedback - direct confirmation of that), which is relatively cheap. In addition, they praise such buildings and for the microclimate. In winter they are warm enough, and in summer it is not particularly hot. However, the selection of a heating system and climate control equipment is usually advised to approach responsibly. Among the advantages of LSTK houses, among other things, include the rapid warming up of air in all rooms when the boiler is turned on. Sometimes condensation appears on the walls of such houses. But this happens rarely enough.

Unfortunately, there are not too many houses built by LSTC technology in our country. Therefore, there are quite few reviews about them. Basically, this method is used to build farms of mansards and ventilated facades. On such designs, the opinions of the owners of suburban areas are uniquely positive. The pluses are, first of all, low weight, strength and durability of structures.

Conclusion

Cheapness, environmental friendliness, fire safety - by all these advantages, certainly, differs LSTK - construction technology. Photos of houses built on this technology, presented on our page, clearly demonstrate their quite attractive appearance. Thus, thanks to a huge number of advantages, this technique will certainly gain popularity among domestic owners of suburban areas in the future.
