Gate arrangement and principle of their operation

Lifting mechanisms

The lifting mechanism can be of two types:

Stages of construction

• Preparation and collection of the frame;

• Installation of rollers;

• Manufacturing of sash;

• Fastening of additional elements.

Framing

Installing rollers

When the frame is installed, you can proceed to fasten the brackets for the rollers. To prevent the gates from clinging, the upper brackets are attached a bit deeper than the lower ones. This can be seen clearly in the picture below. Bolts are used to fix the rails. At this stage, it is very important to accurately measure the level.

At the edges of the rails fixers are installed. They will hold the rollers, thereby keeping the blade in the open (closed) position.

Preparation of leaflets

The shield itself, which will serve as gate leaf, can be made of various materials. But, as it will ensure the reliability of garage protection, be exposed to external climatic influences, it is better to choose more stable materials. It can be the following options:

• Frame made of wooden blocks, upholstered from the outside with a metal sheet;

• Use a solid sheet metal;

• Frame of metal profiles to cover with metal.

As the finish (outer) layer can be anything, even plastic. To protect from frost, the shield can be covered with a layer of insulation.

In order to prevent the gate from opening the pipe completely every time, a wicket can be made in the shield. Through it you can enter (exit) without using the entire structure completely. Some owners of the garages also provide a window in the sash. If necessary, it is not difficult to install it.

When the shield is ready, it is installed on the guides and the mechanism is checked for operation.

Additional Items

The installation of the gate is completed by the installation of additional elements. These include handles, locks, latches for fixing the gate.
