Lev Puchkov: biography, creativity and author's books

Lev Puchkov is a writer of an unusual fate. This is expressed primarily in the fact that he went directly to his publishers and readers directly, bypassing all official literary structures.

Biography Facts

Puchkov Lev Alexandrovich was born in 1965 somewhere in the vastness of Siberia. Since the late eighties and until 2001, he served in the internal troops. The special forces commander participated in both the Chechen wars and other armed conflicts in the North Caucasus. Passed many hot spots and repeatedly risked his life, before he felt the need to put everything experienced in literary works. For a better understanding of the character of this person, one should also take into account the fact that Lev Puchkov, whose biography is very eventful and extreme situations, frankly does not like attention to his private life and does not give interviews on this topic. And for the reader of his works of art, it is important only to understand that these books are written by a combat officer. And he went personally through most of what the readers are trying to tell.

The way to great literature

If serious critics who are members of editorial colleges of reputable literary magazines ask about whether the writer Lev Puchkov knows them, then the answer is likely to be negative. Only the most informed will answer that this is the author of detectives and militants. And about the genre of action to the big literature can be argued for a long time. But Lev Puchkov does not take an interest in their opinion at all. The road to his success he found without any regard for literary authority. He is grateful only to specific publishers, who at one time managed to read his manuscripts and appreciate them. And today the writer is recognized primarily by a wide range of his fans. But his books are published in large editions and such serious publishers as "Exmo."
The largest analysts of the publishing business unreservedly acknowledge the commercial perspective of this author. This means that someday we will be able to read on the front page with the logo of this publishing house - "Puchkov Lev, Complete Works." But while this is premature, a complete collection of works is still in the making. And it remains only to guess what will be the continuation. So far, only what is known is that it will not be boring.

Author's handwriting

What is attractive for the reader Lev Puchkov? First of all - its unique author's style. These books capture the reader from the first paragraph and do not let go until the last page. The author does not just know how to tighten up the plot tightly, but he does it with a masterly virtuosity. In his books there are no easily calculated situations, and the outcome of intrigue can not be foreseen. All characters, including secondary, are psychologically accurate, and their actions are deeply motivated. Action always evolves from one extreme situation to another, ascending. The main character is often guessed by Lev Puchkov himself. The author's books are by no means autobiographical. At least in the full meaning of this definition. However, the author's experience of the Chechen wars can be easily guessed in the pages of his works.

Black humor

And readers also like the books of Lev Puchkov for the characteristic intonation with which the narrative is being conducted. It is she who provides these works with originality and makes them easily recognizable against the backdrop of the numerous passing products of the detective genre. Yes, Lev Puchkov sneers at everything happening quite evil, toxic and absolutely politically incorrect. This is exactly what is called "black humor." But his examples are not so little in the world, and in Russian literature. And the author scoffs first of all over himself in the person of the main character, on whose behalf the narrative in his books is most often conducted. But other characters get it too.

"Bloody"

Lev Puchkov himself, whose library of books now has more than two dozen novels, divides his books into several thematic cycles. Each is based on the unity of the main characters and the place of action. With the choice of a place to make a mistake is difficult. With rare exception, all events unfold either on the northern slopes of the Caucasian ridge, or on the way to it from major cities of Russia. The first great success of the author brought the novel "Bloody" and five of its continuations, which compiled the same cycle. His protagonist, a former spetsnaz officer, acts at his own peril and risk in the depths of the enemy's territory. The motive of his guerrilla war during the officially announced truce is revenge for the kidnapped and murdered wife. It is helped by a cohesive team of like-minded people, each of whom has his own personal accounts to the proud inhabitants of the Caucasus. All these people have nothing more to lose in this life, and they are able to work miracles in the fight against the enemy.

"Dog work"

A series of three novels about the combat life of scouts on the fronts of the First Chechen War was no less exciting for the action . The title of this trilogy, as usual, is ironic. Under dog work, Puchkov means not only a dirty and ungrateful mission of the protagonists, but also a constant presence in the forefront of their existence of several fighting shepherds - full members of the scouting team. The action in "Dog work" is not only in the mountainous terrain, but also on the ruins of the city of Grozny during the times of independent Ichkeria. In the books of Lev Puchkov with great artistic power, all the dirt and unattractiveness of the war, the doom to the pointless death of combat units, the lies of generals and the venality of politicians on both sides of the front are transferred. Perhaps that is why his books have not received the attention of filmmakers. Heroes of Lev Puchkov on the screen so far no one has seen.

Latest on time work

In no event can it be asserted that the theme of the Chechen wars Lev Puchkov closed for himself forever. But his last books are devoted to a slightly different subject. They seem to be about a peaceful life, in which its heroes are forced to return from the slopes of the North Caucasus. But only the definition of "peaceful" in relation to everything that happens to them, sounds completely mocking. No heroes returned from the war from the war to Puchkov. In their native cities, they are faced with ruthless and insolent criminalism, among which the bearded faces, familiar to the heroes of the Chechen auls, often flash. Guests from the Caucasus do not consider themselves to be guests, and with some reason feel themselves winners. And this means that the war is going on and there is no end to it. And consequently, the final volume of the complete collection of works by Leo Puchkov will not be seen soon.
