Lefortovo prison. History and furnishings

Many colonies are not so far away as it might seem at first glance. One of such places is Lefortovo prison, which is located on the territory of Moscow. Its walls were built in the distant 1881. In each wing of the prison there were 14 chambers, and if you look at the building itself from above, it looks like the letter "K". What is the mystery of this prison? What scared her during the Soviet era of each opposing power or simply declared enemy of the people?

Who was Lefortovo prison intended for?

In the past, the colony was used to conclude lower military ranks. At that time there were only three analogues of Lefortovo prison: they were in St. Petersburg, Riga, and also in Warsaw. In Soviet times this colony was one of the most terrible. Then the prison belonged to the Chekists, and torture and interrogation were conducted there. According to the testimony of prisoners of the forties of the last century, there are so-called psychic cells in prison. In them, the walls are painted black, and the lamp burns around the clock. A wind tunnel was also constantly working near them. She caused vibration so that even the plates on the table trembled.

Over time, new premises were built on the territory of the prison. The church of the great saint - Nicholas the Wonderworker was also erected. During the Soviet era, it was converted to various events - it began to organize concerts, as well as training sessions for convicts.

The situation inside

Outside, the prison is completely invisible. Every day the streets of the Lefortovo district are visited by hundreds of Muscovites who do not even suspect that the most mysterious colony of Russia is nearby. If anyone manages to get into the territory of the colony, the first thing that can strike the eye is the terraces along the walls of the prison. On these paths-balconies guard constantly walks, and at any second can look into the cameras. They also say that inside the corridors of the prison there are carpet paths everywhere . Perhaps they are part of some gloomy tradition from the past. But according to other versions, they are needed to absorb sound and keep silence.

In prison there is always terrible silence. All sounds seem to disappear. Although sometimes you can hear how the TV works somewhere, but even this sound disappears. As it happens - nobody knows. Most likely, this is a mystery, known only to the architect who built the Lefortovo colony. The prison accepts all - and detainees at the border or at the airport of the poor, and rich prisoners. Each camera has an area of 8 square meters. M, the prisoners sit in twos.
