Kontrikal: instructions and recommendations

The drug "Kontrikal" (international name Aprotinin) is a powder for the preparation of a solution for injection. In order for the powder to dissolve better, it is treated in a special way, after which it is called lyophilate (powder lyophilized).

One bottle contains 10,000 antitrypsin units of active ingredient aprotinin, according to which the drug was given its international name. In addition to aprotinin, the ampoule contains an auxiliary component of mannitol and a solvent, sodium chloride.

The drug "Kontrikal", the instruction tells about it, is made from the lungs of large cattle. Aprotinin has a repressive effect on such blood plasma elements as chymotrypsin, plasmin, and some others that contribute to the development of inflammatory reactions.

When are you taking the medicine "Kontrikal"? Indications for the drug are the widest. It is prescribed for acute or chronic pancreatitis, pancreatic necrosis. The drug is used in preparation for childbirth, for the prevention of pancreatitis and as part of preparatory therapy before operations on the pancreas. The drug "Kontrikal", the instruction explains this, has proved itself in the treatment of fat embolism, hemorrhage or bleeding that occurs against the background of hyperfibrinolysis. Does the contra-medicine "Contrikal" have contraindications? The drug is not recommended at the very beginning of pregnancy and patients prone to allergies to the components of the drug. Naturally, the use of medication without a doctor's advice is excluded.
