The technique of knitting with fur was invented by the Canadian clothing designer Pola Lishman. In the middle of the last century, she demonstrated on the podium the products associated with rabbit fur, which conquered the whole world. Knitting from fur is a simple and original way of creating warm, fluffy and light things. As the basis for the manufacture of fur yarn used by almost any fur, a rabbit, a mink, a fox, a beaver and even a sheepskin are great, although the thread is made of a coarse fiber. The leather base is dried, the fur is carefully combed, and the finished thread is again twisted into a tangle for further knitting of the product.

In a different way, the fur bilateral thread is made with the aid of a skeleton cotton warp-thread, on which a fur strip is wound. For work, a drill or a conventional spinning wheel is also suitable (although skills are required to work on it). The ends of the already twisted filaments are connected together, a long string for knitting is gathered and twisted into a tangle.

For knitting at home, it is perfectly possible to use a one-sided yarn. This is much simpler, and the product is not less attractive. The fur plate is simply cut into thin strips, which are slightly stretched, join together and twist into a tangle. Then from this thread knit in any way, but it is better, of course, knitting from the fur is obtained on thick knitting needles with usual facial and purl loops.

There is another way to create great knitting with fur bands. It's not so much knitting as embroidery on a knitted mesh. This method is very simple and original. Currently, it is widely used in the production of fur "cloth" in European countries. On the pattern of the product, the mesh crochet is first crocheted from the crocheted columns and the air loop between them. After the part is ready, fur strips with a width of 5-6 mm are pulled into the mesh cells. The finished product is fluffed with a brush, straightening the villi. This method is well suited for thicker coarse fur, for example sheepskin.

Finally, we can create magnificent products from fur bands using weaving. Narrow fur strips are connected to the canvas by usual linen weaving, when each strip passes, then under, then over the next strip. With this method, fur bands do not necessarily need to be joined together in a long thread. In addition, the material consumption will be much less.
