Instability refers to the category of laxatives. The drug is available in the form of drops for internal use. One milliliter of medicament contains seven and a half milligrams of sodium picosulphate (this substance is an active active ingredient). Produced in vials of fifteen or thirty milliliters.

Slabilen - the instruction informs about it - is indicated for the treatment of constipation caused by flaccid peristalsis in the large intestine or hypotension. The drug also regulates stools with proctitis, hemorrhoids and fissures in the anus. In addition, the medication in question is used in preparation for surgical interventions, urography, radiographic and instrumental studies, and also for the prevention of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.

It helps to cope with stool disorders that occur when the place of stay changes and the type of food consumed, with prolonged immobilization, metabolic disorders, in the waiting period of the child, in excess weight.

Slabilen (the instruction emphasizes this) is contraindicated in case of intestinal obstruction, strangulated hernia, acute inflammatory diseases of the organs in the abdominal cavity, peritonitis, abdominal pain of unclear origin, appendicitis, gastrointestinal bleeding, uterine bleeding, cystitis, spastic constipation, patient's age Four years, with severe dehydration, as well as hypersensitivity to the main active substance of the drug.

Slabilen during pregnancy is not appointed. In case of need of treatment by the considered medicine during lactemia feeding should be stopped.

If the product is intentionally or unintentionally taken, the drug may be overdosed. Symptoms are as follows: pain in the abdomen of a paroxysmal nature, frequent and rather liquid stools. In the case of a chronic overdose, ischemia of the small intestine (its mucous membrane) is observed, hyperaldosteronism develops (an ailment caused by increased excretion of the adrenal cortex of the aldosterone substance), failures in the functioning of the renal tubules and urolithiasis.

To eliminate symptoms, it is recommended to wash the stomach and take antispasmodic medications.

Slabilen has no taste, so it can be added to food for children.

In the case of simultaneous administration of this pharmaceutical agent and antibiotics, it is possible to reduce the laxative effect of sodium picosulfate.
