Club career

Alessandro Matri started his football career in a tiny club "Fanfulla" at the age of 11 years, but a year later passed a viewing in "Milan", the academy of which he moved. "Milan" did not begin to extend cooperation with his pupil, and in the summer of 2007, for two and a half million euros, Alessandro Matri moved to Cagliari. There the striker was able to reveal himself: for three and a half years he played in 127 games, scoring 36 goals. So he drew the attention of the strongest club in Italy - "Juventus", who first leased the striker for 2.5 million euros, and then bought the rights to him for another 15.5 million euros.

Matri spent two and a half years at Juventus, having played 81 games and scoring 29 goals, after which in the summer of 2013 Milan decided to redeem his pupil for 11 million euros. But it was another mistake, in the camp of the "Rossoneri" Matri did not play: for six months in 18 games, he scored only one goal, after which he again went on rent. For a year and a half he visited Fiorentina, Genoa and again in Juventus, but in total he played 47 games, scoring just 14 goals. As a result, last season, Matri held a lease at Lazio, where he scored seven goals in 29 matches, and in the summer of 2016, when his contract with Milan expired, signed a two-year deal with Sassuolo, where he played seven games, but Until he was able to score a single goal.

National team appearances

For the Italian national team striker played only seven games, making his debut in March 2011 in a game against the national team of Ukraine. He came on as a substitute and immediately scored a goal, which became the only one in his career. Since Matri played six more matches, but never distinguished himself, and for the last time in the national team's shirt he went on the field in June 2015.
