Is the elimination of goods a deception or a real gain?

At the end of the season, in practically every store, there is a tempting appeal "Elimination of goods! Discounts up to 90%!". Buyers, rushing headlong and taking their wallets, flee for sales in the hope of profitable to buy things. But most often come out of the outlets disappointed. Why? Let's figure it out.

Sold or destroyed

In a broad sense, the liquidation of a product implies the complete destruction of products that do not comply with standards or are prohibited from sale. In the consumer environment, this expression is more often used for sales of seasonal clothing, illiquid equipment and other items that are not in demand. The seller himself decides which product to him to offer at a lower price and what is the maximum discount on it.

Deception or benefit

Very often, sellers turn out to be unscrupulous, trying to get imaginary lucrative offers to lure a buyer into their store. Sometimes liquidating a product is a common way to attract as many people as possible. At the same time, "screaming" discounts of 50, and even 90%, are just a minimal difference from a very inflated initial price. The buyer is misled by crossed out prices, red numbers, and he, as under the influence of hypnosis, "profitable" buys the goods. Although in a nearby store the price of a similar thing can even be slightly lower without a discount.

But there are honest sellers who actually reduce the cost and sell the leftovers at attractive prices. For them, the liquidation of goods is not just a way to sell illiquid, it is a method of attracting more new customers, keeping old customers and maintaining the high reputation of the store.

Is it profitable for the seller

Elimination of goods, clothing, household appliances has advantages not only for buyers, but also for the organizer.

  • As a rule, those things that are not sold this season are put on sale. There is no point in storing them until the next, as the fashion and preferences of buyers change very quickly. Having sold out illiquid goods, the seller will accelerate its own turnover and will receive funds for which it is possible to purchase new collections.
  • There is no need to store commodity stocks and pay rent of storage facilities.
  • A positive image of the company is created, which does not deceive its customers, but honestly conducts business in a market economy.

Thus, not always stated low prices are a sale. Before you succumb to the tempting flyers and flashy offers, you need to compare prices in different stores. Then the purchases will be fun!
