Hibiscus, or Chinese rose. Care and growth features

Probably, every florist is familiar with such a wonderful plant as hibiscus (Chinese rose), which belongs to the Malvian family. It is evergreen and in nature occurs on some islands in the Pacific Ocean, as well as in Southeast Asia. The flower - the Chinese rose - is a shrub quite large in size, and if the conditions of its content are favorable, then it can grow up to three meters in height. Of course, for room conditions, varieties of compact sizes and shapes have long been removed, but they, with proper care, are able to grow tall and lush.

The flower growers love this beautiful plant, even though the Chinese rose care requires very careful. She is very capricious and demanding. But still, this flower is very much like. Basically it is loved for a variety of shapes and shades of bud. The flowers of this plant are very large. They can be simple, having only 5 petals, the most common kind. Terry forms are much less common. And inflorescences of medium splendor are fairly widespread. Shades of buds can be very different: lilac, pink, orange and yellow, salmon and purple, carmine-red and snow-white.

Let's look at the details of the cultivation of the Chinese rose flower. Care of her is very laborious. In the middle of spring, each adult plant should be transplanted into a pot of slightly larger size, but it should not take a very large capacity. In this case, the essence of the transplant is to replace the old substrate with fresh, more nutritious, and not in increasing the space for the root system. Hibiscus (Chinese rose), has one important feature. If the roots in the pot are spacious - you will not wait for the flowers. Therefore, the container for the plant should be a bit cramped.

Watering hibiscus almost always requires very abundant. Especially when he is actively growing and begins to blossom. About once every two weeks you should make fertilizer solutions. But that's not all. If you have a Chinese rose on the windowsill , caring for it in terms of watering has a number of interesting points. Periodically it should be pampered with a weak solution of sugar (half a teaspoon per glass of water). Very fond of it and weak tea. Mostly he prefers black, but he will not refuse from green. And when you defrost the meat, dilute the remaining blood with water and pour your hibiscus. For this he will be very grateful to you, because the plant very much loves nutrients that contain blood.

Lighting is also a very important point in the content of such a plant as a Chinese rose. Care in this case also has features. Hibiscus is very photophilous, but does not tolerate the direct rays of the scorching sun, from them can even appear burns on the leaves. Therefore, to put the plant better where it will be illuminated by the rays of the sun at sunrise or at sunset. Or, put the hibiscus near the window, so that the light hits it through the tulle. If the weather is dry and hot, the plant needs to be sprayed 2-3 times a day. In this case, the water should not be cold, so as not to create sharp changes in temperature.

In winter, the flower can behave differently. If it is in a warm room and well lit, then the plant will not enter the resting stage and may even please several buds. If you take it to a cool room - hibiscus "fall asleep." At the same time he needs a full coverage, otherwise the leaves turn yellow, because he does not discard them. But water often should not be.

A few words I would like to say about the reproduction of this beautiful plant. You can carry out this procedure in two ways - by seeds and cuttings. Most florists give preference to cuttings. Cut them best in the middle of summer. Take the tops of young shoots, having 2-3 internodes. Root them best in a greenhouse. I really do not recommend covering the cuttings with glass jars, because in such conditions they can begin to bleed if you forget them in time to ventilate. It is best to use special greenhouses, and rooting is carried out in a peat tablet or in a light nutrient substrate. In this case, you can be 98% sure of a successful result.

If the greenhouse does not, you can make it yourself. You can place cups with cuttings in plastic transparent bags. They need to pierce a few small holes from the bottom, and tie up the top so that the hole remains. Perfectly suited for creating a small greenhouse and a plastic box from the cake. It also needs to pierce a few holes. The process of root formation in hibiscus takes about a month.

If the conditions for the Chinese rose are favorable, then it will be pleased with flowers from the beginning of March and until the late autumn. And maybe throughout the year, if in the winter time to ensure the correct lighting - to install a fluorescent lamp above the flower . Do not forget that hibiscus is not a plant that can be left unattended and only occasionally watered, it needs a lot of attention and care. Beautiful flowering to you!
