IL-114-300 aircraft: specifications, batch production

The IL-114 aircraft are a family that is intended for local airlines. The first flight took place in 1991. It has been used in Russia since 2001. It will be about one of these aircraft - IL-114-300. The characteristics of the liner are quite adequate, however, its history casts sadness. About it has long been forgotten, when suddenly in 2014, data from drawings were seized from the archives, and the described aircraft received a deserved "new" life.

The reasons for the beginning of the assembly in our time

The question of launching the Il-114 production was raised in 2014 at a meeting of the government of the Russian Federation. This discussion became relevant due to the fact that it was impossible to use AN-148 for passenger flights without the cooperation with Ukraine. The assembly of the regional aircraft solved all the nuances that arose.

Do I need this plane?

In mid-June 2014 in the Samara region for the first time it was proposed to resume the serial production of the Il-114-300. The government undertook to consider this idea before the fall.

In order to understand whether this proposal is rational, inquiries were sent to the airlines (both private and public), as well as to the Ministry of Defense. At the end of August of the same year, one of the representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade made a loud statement that using the Il-114 is at least unprofitable.

Everyone to whom the request was sent was unanimously answered: this liner is not in the queue for purchase, and the whole emphasis is on the IL-112. There is a possibility that in 2020 the need for IL-114 will increase. A statement was made that, most likely, about 50 units of equipment, capacity for up to 60 people, and 20 vessels for 85 seats will be purchased.

The government's speech stressed that over time the need for air transport increases, which makes it likely that the aircraft will be used in the future. Aviation is important for parts of the country, such as the Far North and nearby areas.

On the account of the operating aircraft fleet is slightly less than 3 thousand liners, of which regional only - 298 units. The IL-114 was supposed to replace the Tu-134, An-24 and Yak-40. In all there are about 300. That is, they will require replacement in the near future, which is critical.

In connection with this course of events in 2014, it was nevertheless decided to resume the assembly of the Il-114.

Modification of the IL-114-300

The characteristics of this model differ slightly from the original ones. The engine was improved and some technical data was changed, but about everything in order.

In early 2015, it was decided to resume the assembly of the aircraft. Even then, the exemplary characteristics of the liner were made public. With a load of 1 tonne, the range of the aircraft does not exceed the indicator of 4800 km. Stock of fuel would be enough for 5600 km, and at the same time it consumes about 550 kg.

In the submitted business plan of the turboprop, the IL-114-300 was compared with other types of aircraft. We are talking about the competitors ATR-72, Q-400 and An-140. The range of flight of these vessels is the same. In other indicators, the described aircraft is many times greater than the already available airliners.

According to the director of "Aviakor" in 2025, 24 cars should be produced. For 2018 and 2019 years. The company is obliged to develop and assemble the first production aircraft.

The layout of the Il-114-300 liner was presented two years ago in the summer. It was suggested that it is possible that until 2020 some aircraft of this series will have a ski-wheel chassis. This will help solve the problem of the flight of scientists between stations in Antarctica and Russia. At the moment, the Federation uses purchased equipment from Canada.

Approximately at the same time, the airplane test was conducted. It is able to withstand about 30 thousand flights, 20 years of operation and an average of 30 thousand hours.

Already at the end of summer 2015 it turned out that the liner would not be assembled at the Aviakor plant. In order to produce the IL-114-300 it is necessary to fully re-equip the conveyor, which will cost more than 19 billion rubles. The state does not have such funds, so the assembly at the Samara plant was canceled.

You can see that Yuri Slyusar, who spoke against the creation of this aircraft, radically changed his mind. He said that the assembly, presumably, will be carried out in Kazan, Voronezh, Ulyanovsk and Nizhny Novgorod. Moreover, he expressed the need for the operation of the liner, since it will perfectly suit both for commercial purposes and for the Russian Ministry of Defense. In autumn 2015, the decision was finally made - the assembly is planned to be carried out in Nizhny Novgorod at the Sokol plant.

Engine Model

The Il-114-300 aircraft received the engine of the TV7-117C model. But, it is worth noting that there was a lot of criticism in his direction. With what are they connected? The unit is considered unreliable, it must be serviced for a long time in the service, and repair is too expensive. Due to the fact that the aircraft were not in operation for too long, they had to hire specialists to replace worn out parts. In connection with the crisis in 2010, the airline closed, which mainly operated the IL-114-300.

Just the same because of problems with the engine in 1993 there was a wreck. Reaching 45 meters after takeoff, the liner began to drop sharply, then it collided with the ground and caught fire. Due to the fact that time was catastrophically small, the crew did not manage to make the right decision.

In connection with this engine defect, its manufacturer quickly eliminated weak points, strengthened the turbines. After testing the aircraft, the power unit proved to be the best. The fuel consumption was reduced to 19 kg per 1 km.

The already changed engine clearly shows its advantages. It is assembled in such a way that if a part of it breaks down, it can be replaced promptly in a short time by a new worker. Repair and maintenance is much cheaper and does not take a long time.

Let us consider its main characteristics. The engine was designed to reduce the cost of the aircraft in which it is used, improve reliability and reduce the overall weight of the liner. Being in the take-off mode, the power unit produces about 2.5 thousand horsepower, on cruising - this figure is 1.8 thousand. When working in the first version, the fuel consumption per hour is 200 liters. S., In the cruising mode - 180 g / hp.

Changes in the 300 modification

The Il-114-300 aircraft, the description of which is given in the article, received better stability, lower landing speed and improved performance with direct landing. This ensures increased comfort on arrival.

Moreover, it was decided to change the engine, which will be installed on this liner. The plans are to use the basic version of the already described unit, and on its modification CM. It has a higher thrust, as well as improved indicators of takeoff characteristics.

In the near future, there may be a new improvement in the engine, which will be put on the aircraft 114-300. This will reduce the size of the runway. At the moment, for maximum weight, the figure is almost 2 thousand meters. With this power unit, this figure will drop to 300 meters.

When assembling a new Il-114-300 aircraft, which will be mass-produced in the next three to four years, the entire power supply system, wires, cables, and a control complex will be replaced. In order for the crew to be able to perform all of their duties, the aircraft will receive a flight-navigation system in digital format. This will allow both landing and take-off of the car under the meteorological conditions of the second category of ICAO. Five LCDs will be installed. Il-114-300 interior will also receive a lot of changes.

Specifications

The Future of Aircraft

For a long time the plane has proved itself as low noise. Passengers quietly, without raising their voices, can talk to their neighbors, which is an undoubted plus. Due to the fact that by modern standards the design of the 80's is morally obsolete, it was decided to change it. However, the manufacturer promises that only the external design will change, comfort and convenience will remain at the same level.

When assembling the aircraft will use the highest quality materials, which will accurately guarantee the reliability of the liner.
