Hunting for a goose

According to these professional hunters, goose hunting is considered the most difficult. It requires enough serious preparation, certain knowledge and skills. Autumn goose hunting begins in October and lasts until winter itself.

The goose is very timid and at the same time cautious, this causes certain difficulties during the hunt. Most of the time these birds spend near the water. The place of their feeding goose flocks select winter crops or plowed fields. To control the environment, geese are located on a hill. The first feeding of birds begins at dawn. They also have their own observers, who, stretching their necks, watch closely all the changes that are taking place around them. Sensing the danger, the flock instantly flies away. Closer than for three hundred meters, geese to themselves will not be allowed.

In their school, the roles are distributed in such a way that besides geese-observers there are also geese-scouts. They arrive in advance on the field and carefully examine the place of feeding. An experienced hunter knows that it is by no means possible to shoot at such a goose, since, by shooting one bird, the hunter is deprived of the possibility of good prey. After all, the rest of the pack will never come here, and hunting for a goose at this place can be considered complete. We must also take into account that small flocks do not send scouts, but fly all together. Therefore, this chance should not be missed.

Every hunter knows that it is necessary to prepare for this event in advance. We need to think over everything in detail, so that at the right time the necessary things are at hand. The most important here is the binoculars. With its help a field for hunting is chosen, from which, by the way, it is necessary to keep as far as possible. Without a shovel, hunting for a goose will also not be enough. In order to remain unnoticed, the hunter digs out a small depression called skradok. In it, he will be before the arrival of geese.

You also need to prepare goose models (goose profiles). It is necessary to stock up and camouflage net, which will help to disguise the shelter.

Arriving at the hunting site, you need to use binoculars to determine the field on which the pack is located. After waiting, when it flies away, you can start digging holes. The most favorable is the evening time. Then you can be sure that the birds on this day will not fly. Depth of scrabbling depends on the body weight of the hunter. A camouflage net is stretched from above. It is necessary to pay attention to a very important nuance: the dug earth should be spread evenly and as far as possible from skradka. Geese very well remember the relief of the fields they have chosen, so the appearance of any unevenness or new objects will unmistakably scare them.

Having completed the processing of the shelter, you can arrange profiles. The number of them should approximately correspond to the goose flock (no less than twenty pieces). They should be set up in such a way that a flock of shots appeared from afar. It is best to arrange them in length. The beak must be directed against the wind. After every seven feeding profiles, with the beak down, you need to put a pair of watchdogs that stand with their necks extended upwards. The remaining profiles are located five to seven meters from the skradka.

Hunting for a goose will bring good luck, if you come in advance, preferably before dawn. Then you need to be patient and sit quietly, without moving. You can find yourself only when the decision is made to make a shot. Its prey should be collected from the field only after the end of the hunt.

According to statistics, goose hunting in autumn brings luck to only ten people out of a hundred. Therefore, if you have enough patience and some knowledge, even an inexperienced hunter will be able to shoot one or two geese, and after that you can consider yourself a true breadwinner.
