Braking by "plow" on skis: step by step instructions

Many like active recreation and go to the ski resort in winter. Beginners immediately take a few lessons of skiing with the instructor. From the outside everything seems so easy, but you need special skill to descend correctly from the slopes. It is important to learn the ways of braking to ride beautifully and with pleasure. The most important technique of braking is "plow" and "stop" ("half-plow").

An inadequately prepared skier often can not cope with high speed on a run, so you must learn to reduce it. Braking by "plow", "stop" is used in cases when there is an unexpected obstacle, if one of the participating skiers suddenly falls.

At competitions, spectators can create hindrances. The technique of braking with a "plow" on skis is sometimes used with an insufficiently known route, on very sharp descents. This is a very effective method of suspension. It helps to adjust the fast pace and stop.

Sometimes you can prevent a ride on an object only by deliberate falling. This is in cases when the obstacle caught the skier by surprise and is so close that it is impossible to slow down. If you manage the fall skillfully, then there is a chance not to get injured, climb quickly and continue skating.
