How to work with plasterboard

Drywall is a very convenient and necessary modern building material. Since it is necessary to work with gypsum cardboard, without fail following the basic rules, you first need to decide what it is. Briefly this word can be deciphered in this way - these are sheets of cardboard, connected together by a gypsum layer with different fillers. Hence the name of the material.

Since it is possible to work with gypsum plasterboard, when performing interior finishing work (leveling, wall warming, erection of new partitions), it is necessary to follow all the technical rules established by the instruction.

Therefore, it is necessary to clearly define the order of actions. First, before you work with plasterboard, you need to make sure that this work will meet construction standards. Further it is necessary to take care of the full serviceability of the electrical insulation. Before working with plasterboard, it is important to worry about isolation from humidity. This is especially true if the walls are made of heat-insulating panels, so that subsequently there is no condensation between the plasterboard and the walls.

If the building is located in a region with a cold climate, the moisture barrier must pass between the coating and the thermal insulation plate. If in a warm area - it is between the cladding and the heat-insulating plate.

When working with this material, it is also necessary to take into account that the temperature in the room should not be below the 15-degree barrier. Moreover, this level should be observed within 48 hours before the work is done and as much after. If there is high humidity in the room, good air flow must be ensured during installation.

Using this building material, you can easily make a redevelopment of the premises, for example, from one room to get two. For this it is enough to install a drywall partition, strong and reliable. It will not be very difficult and dismantle it, if it ever becomes unnecessary.

Also it is worth considering that when building a new house, the installation of the floors should not be ahead of the installation of windows and entrance doors. Before attaching the sheets, make sure that all crossbars are level and properly mounted. The adjacent surfaces must touch each other end-to-end. It happens that the wall is so uneven surface that it is necessary to install a cross crate, before plastering it with plasterboard.

The material is attached to the wooden rails with nails, the distance between which is approximately 50 centimeters. If there is an opening for the pipe, cable or battery in the wall to be trimmed, it is required to put a metal protective plate along the wooden strip, in order not to damage the communication. This action is mandatory under the terms of building regulations.

In any work with gypsum cardboard you will have to face the fact that it is necessary to cut the sheets. Than to take advantage in this case, than to cut a drywall? This will require a construction knife. If it is not at hand, you can use a clerical sharpened knife.

How to cut drywall? It's pretty simple. A sheet of building material is laid on a hard surface, measured with a tape measure to the desired size and carefully cut, grabbing as much as possible a plaster layer. And then - the gypsum layer just break through the notch up to the second layer of cardboard. After that, the second layer is cut and the sheet is mounted.

As can be seen from the above, it is very convenient to use a building material called "drywall". Even a rather inexperienced master can, if desired, be able to cope with this task.
