How to understand that your biological clock is running out of time?

We all constantly hear about mythical "biological clocks", which constantly tick until the woman has a child. Together with biological work, there are career hours, hours of travel and any other dreams, which are hampered by marriage, children and responsibility.

More and more women prefer to ignore their biological clock. On average, a woman acquires a child for the first time for five years later than in the seventies of the last century. What happens if you wait? Let's take a closer look at this issue.

Losing time

First of all, it is necessary to understand what is a biological clock in general. It is a widespread belief that women have only a limited time to create a family. In fact, this is a fairly stereotyped view, far from the truth. Women and men have several different biological clocks. These clocks are clusters of certain molecules in cells throughout the body. They create a circadian rhythm that determines when we eat, sleep and do the rest.

The main clock is located in the brain, they determine all the processes - sleep, digestion, menstrual cycle. These clocks do not accelerate, unless a person shakes their schedule by improper diet, overwork or reduced physical activity. One way or another, the concept, which states that for a woman's pregnancy, only a short period, determined by these hours, is completely untrue - the situation is much more complex and multifaceted.

Full fiction

For the first time the idea that there are biological clocks determining the ability to conceive appeared in the newspapers in 1978 - it was a new concept for intimidating young women seeking active career growth.

The article described a fictitious woman who had a biological clock calling to remind - at the age of 27 to 35 the time is rushing, you need to try to make an important decision sooner, then it will not work out. Nevertheless, this idea completely misses the fact that not all women in general need to make such a decision, in addition, men should also think about the age. Finally, it is worth mentioning that nothing special happens on the thirty-fifth birthday. There is no sense in trying to find some critical moment in life after which the realization of your plans for the family will be impossible - this is an individual question that can not be determined by public perceptions or other similar criteria.

Attempt to warn

Contrary to questionable formulation, the concept of the timer turned out to be popular. It is used to shame women who do not have children. To raise the birth rate and act on women between the ages of 21 and 30, in Singapore came up with an advertising campaign using fairy-tale characters and a myth about the biological clock.

Regular books on this subject are published. In different countries of the world, women are pressured using the same unfortunate concept. This is an absolutely unfair and limited approach, which should be ended once and for all. In the end, men should also worry about this problem, but for some reason the concept of biological clock does not take them into account at all.

The 30th anniversary

Biological clock, which many are forced to fear, in fact, no, time they can not end. Nevertheless, the body does change, which can complicate the process of conception every year. The ability to become pregnant begins to deteriorate after about thirty-two years. At thirty-seven the process accelerates and lasts up to forty-five.

The risk of miscarriage increases - in women at the age of 20, miscarriage occurs in 10 percent of cases, and in women aged forty five and older, miscarriage occurs in ninety percent of cases. Decreased ability to conceive and increase the probability of miscarriage are associated with a deterioration in the quality of eggs and a decrease in their number. Nevertheless, it should always be remembered that all the processes in the body occur individually and some women face problems at an early age, while others, on the contrary, completely tolerate pregnancy after forty, without encountering any complications.

Stress and anxiety

According to some reports, stress and anxiety can affect your chance of becoming pregnant more than your age. Studies in 2014 showed that women with high levels of stress are twenty-nine percent less likely to become pregnant than women with low levels of stress. This is confirmed by the data from the 2010 survey, which showed that women with enzymes that result from stress in the blood, face difficulties in conception by twelve percent more often than women who have less of such enzymes. Proceeding from this, it can be concluded that taking care of one's psychological comfort is far more important than the figures in the passport. This is important to remember!

A new day, the same problems

Despite the fact that many women postpone childbearing, medical data show that the number of couples in need of treatment for infertility remains virtually unchanged. On the contrary, it can even be said that the number of infertile women aged between fifteen and forty-four years has decreased by one and a half percent since the eighties of the last century. It turns out that the later appearance of the first child does not lead to more problems at all - the statistics do not allow to draw such a conclusion, although the stereotype of a biological clock hints at this state of affairs.

Older mothers

Pregnancy at the age of fifty years or even older is a common tendency. According to research, modern women regularly become mothers at this age. As a rule, this is due to fertilization "in vitro" - when the eggs are fertilized outside the body. The number of women in the number of women who got a child in the last decade increased by one hundred and sixty-five percent. The possibilities of modern medicine guarantee a normal pregnancy and at this age - apparently, the notorious clock can still be stopped or reversed.

Danger to health

Women are capable of giving birth to children after fifty, however, certain health risks begin to appear with age, this applies to both thirties and forties. Women with chronic diseases, such as high blood pressure, face an increased risk of miscarriage or fetal diseases. Older mothers can also develop various diseases during pregnancy. If you delay the pregnancy for a long time, the probability of premature birth, chromosomal abnormalities, increases the need for caesarean section.

Pros of Waiting

Despite all this, there are many advantages in waiting with the advent of the child. Not so long ago, the results of the study were published, showing that women who delayed the appearance of a child, then could boast of better cognitive abilities and better health in later life. Studies have also shown that children whose parents are older show better results at school than children who have young parents. Despite their age, older parents are quite able to find a common language with the child, like young couples.
