How to treat a subcutaneous tick in cats

Sometimes people love more of their pets than themselves. They are ready to look after them day and night, buy sand and feed, although they may not have the money to eat themselves. Such love leads to the fact that the owner is very upset because of the animal's illness. Fortunately, we have veterinary clinics that deal with the treatment of affected pets. And what do cats do?

As a rule, pets are equally affected by various diseases, like man, and the most common problem is a subcutaneous tick in cats, which is scientifically called "demodecosis." Such a disease happens rarely, but it is very dangerous for the health of a pet, since the tick lives on the animal's body and lays eggs in the hair follicle.

However, the appearance of a parasite often manifests itself not immediately, but becomes noticeable after a while, when the disease is already started. Usually, when another cat's illness sets in, when immunity weakens, veterinarians can diagnose a "subcutaneous tick".

The first symptom, which clearly indicates that there is a subcutaneous tick in cats, is baldness in the eyes, ears, abdomen and tail. And also pimples and ulcers appear on the skin, which cause itching and discomfort. Another sign that the tick in the cat is progressing is the presence of dandruff. Now you need to sound an alarm, because it is in this case that the tick can spread to a person through small particles of already peeling skin.

With a disease such as a subcutaneous tick in cats, treatment is usually performed in a veterinary hospital, where the doctor prescribes drugs, but only after the diagnosis. To identify the parasite, scraping of the skin and biopsy of the affected areas are taken. The disease is very difficult to cure. This usually requires a lot of time. However, there are also localized forms that are amenable to drug intervention much easier. In this case, in those places where there is already baldness, the hair grows completely. But light forms are very rare in cats.

Usually treatment lasts extremely long because the subcutaneous tick in cats has a thick shell that does not allow all medications to pass. In this treatment, means are used to destroy parasites. Also need to apply injections, which restore the immune system of the animal. And to all this add the use of all the necessary vitamins, which will help get rid of the parasite faster than the deadline.

During the treatment period, it is necessary to take a few scrapes to make sure that the drugs are really suitable and have the desired effect. In cats parasitism of the tick passes in a lighter form than in dogs and sometimes there are even cases of self-healing. But all the same after the course of taking medications you need to conduct a full examination with a veterinarian to make sure the cat is fully recovered.

In the treatment of subcutaneous mites use a variety of ointments. As a rule, it is sernosalicylic and Wilkinson's ointment, which has a black color and an unpleasant smell. These drugs should be applied to the skin of the animal for three to six hours, no less. After that, the ointment is washed, and the skin is treated with boiled and cooled vegetable oil. Then a steroid ointment should be applied to the affected area.

In the fight against subcutaneous mites, antibiotics, and also antiprotozoal medications such as "Trichopolum" in tablets are widely used. One should consult a veterinarian before deciding to treat the animal without permission to avoid possible itching and burning of his skin.

The owners of the animal can rejoice that, although not for a short time, but the subcutaneous tick in cats still gives in to treatment.
