How to strike the palm correctly: technique of execution
For some unknown reason, men believe that during a fight it is necessary to use fists. However, as practice shows, a strong blow with the palm is no less effective in suppressing aggression of the attacker. In addition, this option is not so traumatic. In particular, a stroke with the palm reduces the risk of knuckle injury, not to mention the possibility of fractures. Such a method of combat seems not only an effective solution in the attack, but also represents a good diversionary maneuver.
How effective is an open palm strike?
It is absolutely not necessary to invest excessive energy and give impetus to all body weight. The method is suitable first of all for drawing damage from the side, where it is unlikely to be able to use mass.
How to hit the palm in the frontal direction?
When striking, you need to make sure that the elbow follows the direction of movement and does not go too far. Ideally, it should move in the same plane with the "heel" of the palm. Only then will the impact be maximally effective. To add extra force, it is enough to supplement the movement by turning the body.
Striking the outer edge of the palm in the neck
To strike a blow with the edge of the palm in the neck is recommended backhand. The most powerful, accentuated, this effect will be obtained by breaking through from the side with which the working arm is attached to the trunk. To avoid injury to the limb, it is desirable to pre-tighten the fingers. Suitable for such a blow with the palm and to attack the neck.
Attack with the palm of the eye
Such an attack is carried out by the base of the palm, which must lie exactly in the eye area. In order for the blow to be devastating, it is recommended that you move from the bottom up.
With a successful attack in the eye there is a high probability of loss of consciousness of the enemy due to the development of a sharp pain syndrome. That is why such actions should be resorted only in extreme cases, when the attacker behaves especially aggressively.
Blow on the lip
Nasolabial fold is a rather vulnerable place. There are many nerve endings here. In addition, in the presented area the cranial bone connects with the cartilaginous nasal tissue.
The impact is still the same base of the palm. It is advisable to pierce the lip with an accent, on the outstretched arm. Thus, it is possible to increase the chances of damaging not only the soft tissues, but also the teeth of the attacker.
Blow on the ear with the palm of your hand
When the edge of the palm is struck in the ear, the value has an additional movement with the pelvis, legs and shoulder girdle. The attack can be carried out in ligaments, for example, movement with the hand that protrudes in the front in the rack, its alternation with the other limb and a repeated impulse after a small step forward.
You can pierce both sides of the head at the same time. What can lead to such a blow to the ears with the palms? The consequences are as follows:
- The emergence of stable noise, sensation of ringing in the head;
- Temporary loss of orientation in space;
- Blurred consciousness;
- Rupture of eardrums, partial or complete loss of hearing (in case of passing a strong, precise impact).
A blow to the bridge of the nose
It is performed on an outstretched arm in the direction from the bottom up. The main energy is concentrated in the base of the palm.
Even a slight push into the bridge of the nose is fraught with the development of pain shock, the occurrence of heavy bleeding from the nasopharynx, up to the total loss of combat effectiveness of the opponent. A strong, accented attack with the palm of the presented area makes it possible to crush the bridge of the nose. A consequence of this is often the penetration of bone fragments into deep tissue and brain damage. Therefore, when performing such strikes, one should try not to overdo it.
Attack to the jaw
The effect of this attack is similar to an uppercut. With the right accent and transfer of additional energy with the help of body rotation, the knockout to the enemy is practically assured. In addition, there is a possibility that the opponent will bite his tongue.
"The Dead Palm"
This movement of the palm is often called a volleyball blow. The brush is relaxed during the attack. The penetration with the help of technology takes place tangentially in the direction from top to bottom and slightly inward. Traffic is accompanied by a corresponding bending of the body.
The present attack is more aimed at damaging the skin and surface tissues, rather than inflicting damage to internal organs. Its implementation requires a very small swing, which will not allow the enemy to take countermeasures.
Advantages of fighting with palms
- The density of the hand is the first and one of the main advantages. The correct setting of the palm allows you to produce stronger punches than using fists. As is known, the main problem in the box is the need to fix the fingers with bandages and protect them with gloves. Even experienced fighters often break their naked fists while conducting strong attacks. However, it is difficult to imagine that the palms can suffer in combat.
- The ability to move from hit to capture - an open palm allows not only to make an attack, but also to carry out shots, destabilize the opponent's balance. Doing combat using this part of the body removes the limitations that are present when using gloves while working with fists.
- Form - when attacking the fist, the shock wave diverges, like a sphere. The palm has a concave shape. Therefore, the energy from its contact with the surfaces has a point concentration. So, a punch in the head can pass casually along the hairline. At the same time, a palm attack under the same conditions can cause serious injuries, up to a concussion.
disadvantages
The decision to fight the palms has its drawbacks. Immediately it is worth noting that in this case the hand is shorter in comparison with the setting of the fist. The difference here is insignificant - just a few centimeters. However, in the conditions of the fight, even this is enough to compensate for the loss of the force of impact due to the movement of the legs and the hull.
The next comparative disadvantage is the large area of the palm. This feature negatively affects the passing of the hand through the defense of the opponent. Where the fists can easily pierce the opponent's limbs, the palm can "get bogged down."
In fact, the clenched fist inflicts damage through the knuckles of the middle and index fingers. The palm formed by the ligaments and muscles is much softer. That is why the attacks of the pads of this part of the body often cause only reddening of the skin, while the result of work by the fists becomes abrasions, bruises, bruises. Consequently, the conduct of the fight with the palms should be based on the technique that has been worked out, and also the accentuated imposition of the impulse in the blow.
