How to restart the browser "Chrome", "Opera", "Mozilla" and "Yandex"

Browser - one of the programs that is installed on each personal computer, tablet or smartphone. Thanks to this program, access to the Internet passes through a secure connection and allows you to open the necessary site at any time of the day.

But sometimes the browser can "hang". There are many reasons: a low data transfer rate, an incorrectly working plug-in or player, a program malfunction, or a "hangover" of a personal computer. In such cases, users need to know how to restart the browser correctly and safely.

A universal way to restart browsers

Regardless of which browser is installed on a computer, laptop or tablet, there is a universal way to restart the program. If the browser "hangs", then the "Task Manager" will help to correct the situation.

You can call it in several ways:

  • Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + Esc.
  • From the "Start" menu: it's enough to type "Task Manager" in the search bar and click on the appeared icon.

After the system window appears, in the list of processes, you need to find the application file. Usually its name coincides with the name of the browser. Next, click the left mouse button on the process, thereby highlighting it.

After that, you need to open a pop-up menu. To do this it is quite simple: click on the highlighted line with the right mouse button. In the menu, select the "Delete task" item. Soon the browser will be closed.

Then go to the "Details" tab and see the list of processes. The user will need to make sure that all browser processes are disabled. Only after that you can open the browser again.

Many people know about the first two ways of restarting the browser, but only a few know about the third way. This method does not just close the application, it just reboots. To do this, type browser: // restart in the address bar and then press the enter button. The browser will restart itself. For quick access, you can create a tab with the address "reset".

Saving open tabs when restarting the browser

In addition to knowing how to restart the browser, many users are interested in how to restore the last session, so as not to lose important tabs. There are several ways to do this.

First, you need to change the browser settings. First, go to the "Basic Settings" menu. In the opened menu, find the item "When starting to open ...". With standard startup, the browser opens the home page. But the user can change it to "Previously opened tabs". Thus, accidentally closing the program does not lead to the loss of tabs.

You can also open the previous session using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + T. When the browser starts, pressing these keys will open the last session. During further work with the browser, this shortcut will open previously closed tabs.
