Everyone whose work is somehow connected to a computer, one day has to figure out how to resize a photo. And a simple home user sometimes has to process digital images. That's why the question of how to resize a photo is far from trivial. It would seem - what could be easier than properly adjusting the image! After all, even the basic applications included in the Windows operating system include a program for changing photos. The problem is that not all users know about this: everyone was once a beginner and should remember their attempts to find the necessary information in the global web. Understanding this, we in our article will point to several programs, with which it is very easy to understand how to resize a photo.
Perhaps, one of the simplest solutions is the MS Paint application. It is included in all recent versions of Windows. You can start it in two ways: from the Start menu or from the command line. We recommend the second, as the faster. It is necessary to press the Win + R buttons and in the "Run" window type mspaint. After starting the program it remains to proceed in the "File" menu, select "Open" and point to the desired image. Although the developers tried to simplify the work with the program as much as possible, many still do not understand how to change the size of the photo. In fact, everything is obvious - among the menu icons there is a link "Resize". You need to click on it and specify pixels as units of measurement - it's more convenient than percentages. Here the number in the "Horizontal" box indicates the number of points along the abscissa axis, and "Vertically", respectively, on the ordinate line. A check in front of preserving the proportions is necessary to ensure that the aspect ratio is not violated when the size is changed. Usually it should not be removed, although there are exceptions. Thus, if it is involved, it is enough to prescribe the desired number of points in any window, while the value in the other will be calculated automatically. The menu "File - Save As ..." allows you not to lose the changes you made.
To change the image size is often recommended to use the famous Photoshop. In our opinion, this is not justified. If you want to make photo effects, then, of course, Photoshop is beyond competition, and for the banal adjustment of pixels there are simpler solutions.
So, if for some reason the functionality of MS Paint seems to the user a little, you can use the well-known program Photo Filtre Studio. Its capabilities greatly exceed Paint. Perhaps, it can be recommended to each user. The amount in the installed state is only 15 megabytes (compare with gigabytes of Photoshop), support for layers, collage, the use of the most "running" effects - this is exactly what you need for everyday work.
After the startup, go to the "File" menu and select "Open". A guide will appear, with which you can specify the picture. Next, clicking on it in the program itself, you should select "Image Size". The possibilities of the appeared window are similar to those that are present in MS Paint - the same pixels, a tick for the ratio.
