How to make hearts on the keyboard

Many people who actively use the Internet often wonder how to print non-standard characters using the keyboard, for example, how to make hearts on the keyboard, smileys or other symbols. In fact, everything is not so difficult, as it may seem at first glance - non-standard characters are used by many, and it is quite possible to make them quite easy, you just need to know how to do it.

It's worth mentioning that personal computers almost from the very beginning of their mass existence had the ability to display much more different characters than could fit on a standard keyboard. In short, if the keyboard contained all the characters that could be displayed, it would not fit on the table. To date, the standard character code table includes about a hundred times more characters than, say, 20 years ago, and their typing on the keyboard during this time has hardly changed. Many non-standard characters can still be displayed on the computer only with the help of various auxiliary applications or special procedures.

To understand how to make symbols on the keyboard, you can, perhaps, only understand the process well. This article gives instructions on how to make hearts on the keyboard, which can significantly facilitate the life of those who, for example, dream of making their own nickname in social networks more creative.

Instructions on how to make hearts on the keyboard

So, first you need to open the main menu of your operating system. To do this, you can use the Win key. Press "All Programs", scroll down the list and select "Standard". This section is also rewound almost to the end, it is necessary to stop on the column "Official". In this column there is a link to a special application under the heading "Symbol table". You need to run it - it is in the window of this program that you can find any symbols, not just hearts. You can find here how to make emoticons on the keyboard, notes, ticks, various mathematical symbols. The number and type of characters is determined by the number of fonts present on your computer (which, by the way, can be replenished).

So, you opened the table. The serial number of hearts in this Unicode table is 9829, which is almost at the very end. In order not to scroll the entire table to the end, you can do it differently by using the "Additional Parameters" checkbox. It is necessary to make sure that the value in the drop-down list under the heading "Character Set" is set to "Unicode". By entering "Unicode Ranges" in the "Grouping" list, you can open a small window containing a list of code groups. Clicking on it "Symbols and Icons", you can display only 12 characters in the table, one of which will be a heart.

Double-clicking on the symbol, you can see the appeared field "For copying". You can add other symbols to this field in the same way, if you need it.

By clicking the "Copy" button, you move the contents of the field to the clipboard, from where, by switching to any application, including a text editor and a browser, you can paste the copied icons from the computer's buffer. You can do this with the right mouse button or with the Ctrl + V keys.

There is an even simpler way: you can remember the serial number of the required character from the Unicode table, then the help of the auxiliary program will not be required. By pressing the Alt key, you can enter the serial number of the symbol on the numeric keypad. As already mentioned, the heart is numbered 9829.

Sometimes it happens that for some reason the characters are not displayed on the web pages, if they are inserted in the above ways. Among such reasons, there may be unsuccessful combinations of source code codepoints of a hypertext document or your computer. Then it is logical to use "symbolic primitives" - special sets of characters for HTML. To display the heart in the text of the page, put the character primitive ♥ in its source code.

It is in such ways that hearts and other symbols are inserted into the texts. This text explains how to make hearts on the keyboard, but the creation of other characters is similar, according to the same scheme.
