How to make columns with own hands?

A quality acoustic system is the dream of every music lover. Unfortunately, it's not always possible to buy it in a store. But do not despair: the speakers with their own hands make it quite possible for everyone!

What you need to work

Surely every radio amateur in the stock there are several old speakers that can be adapted to the case. For the case, you can take a conventional fiberboard, but if you belong to aesthetes, it is better to use a tree.

Material preparation

If you have ever dealt with wood-fiber plates, you know perfectly well that in the long term, their end parts often get stuck. These places must be cut off. From the surface of the plates, you need to carefully remove all traces of contamination.

Layout

Since there are so many opinions about the size of the columns, you can easily cut the pieces of the size you need with your own hands. Holes for the dynamics of marking in advance, using the usual pencils for this.

The material must be "cut" with a hacksaw or circular saw with the smallest teeth, avoiding chipping and unevenness in the places of the saw. In addition, it is better to immediately mark out the places for screwing screws. For their seats, it is required to make holes with a thin drill, and for the hat to remove the bevel with a thicker tool. So you will protect yourself from splitting the material.

On the back wall, do not forget to make a hole for the wire outlet.

Assembly

The more beautiful the speakers will be with their own hands, the more carefully you collect them. Screws try to screw it neatly, avoiding any distortions and getting them out of the material. Having assembled a three-sided "box" resembling the shape of the letter "P", carefully check it for the absence of cracks and cracks.

If any, they can be glazed with sawdust from the same DVP, mixed with PVA glue. Doing the speakers yourself, do not forget to cut the hole for the speaker. You need to do this with a jigsaw, and trying to perform this operation as accurately as possible!

After that, you can attach the speaker. You can use glue for this purpose, but for this you need to choose the most reliable composition. If you are not sure, it is better to screw them on small screws.

Amplifier

The question of the amplifier used is difficult to disclose without knowing your preferences and capabilities. You can buy some finished model, and you can build it yourself, using the same TDA1558Q scheme as the basis. It is good in that it turns out a fairly high-quality amplifier, with its own hands made and giving out 22 watts per channel. For home use, this will be quite enough.

Appearance

Of course, your work (especially with a lack of experience) may not look very attractive, but everything can be corrected by appropriate design. Here there are several options: to cover with a cloth, paint or veneer. We recommend using the last option, gluing the tree on the glue.

To protect and decorate the speakers it is better to use some kind of mesh material. You can also make columns for your own hands. For installation, the most commonly used is dyed metal.
