As a rule, these products use monochrome plastic vessels. They can be revived in the technique of decoupage, using napkins with a large pattern.

Independently, such kitchen appliances can easily be made with their own hands with other fillers. For example, in a high transparent flask with a diameter of 15 cm, you can fill up with beans and cereals (lentils of different colors, rice, small beans, etc.). In this case, you get a stand, which will also serve as an element of the kitchen decor.

Stand for knives with your own hands from slats

This is a very simple kitchen appliance, which can be made by anyone who knows how to work with a saw and drive nails.

You will need 81 square racks. They should be 1-2 cm longer than the blade of the longest kitchen knife that you have in your house, and a width of 1.5 cm.

Such a wooden knife stand is made as follows:

• Take a square board 16x16 cm;
• Using a ruler, pencil is applied to it in lines in horizontal and vertical direction (the first one - having deviated from the edge by 7.5 cm, and the others - with a step of 1.8 cm);
• Mark the point of intersection with the marker;
• Lubricate one end of the rail with joinery glue;
• Nail it with a nail to the board in the marked places (you can use the screws, pre-drilled in the right places shallow holes, but then to the base of the product from the outside have to glue the rubber feet, otherwise it will not be stable);
• When all the slats are nailed, take a thin bar with a thickness of less than 1 cm and a length of 16 cm and stick it on the stand so that the "belt" turns out;
• Paint the stand or cover it from the outside with varnish.

Another wooden variant

To make such a stand for relatively short knives, a board-base with a thickness of 1 cm more than the width of the blade of your biggest knife is required. Its height you can choose yourself, but it can not exceed 20 cm. As for the width, if you want to place six knives, it should be 30 cm.

Make the stand in the following order:

• The board is cut into bars with an indentation of 3 cm at an angle of about 35-40 degrees according to the number of knives, starting from the upper right corner;
• All the details are thoroughly polished;
• Take a board 2-3 cm thick, 3 times as wide as the bars and longer than the base for the length of the knife in cm;
• A straight line is drawn in the center;
• Paste a trapezoid piece of the base and bars with an indent of 1 cm;
• On both sides a 2 cm-wide wooden strip is glued onto the base;
• At the edges fix with screws;
• Cover the stand with a varnish or paint in some dark color.

Original stand: materials and tools

An interesting variant in the form of a warrior with a shield can be made by those who know how to cut shapes from plywood with a jig saw. Especially easy this functional decoration for the kitchen can be made, if you have the opportunity to work on a special machine with a CNC, working on a given program.

You will need:

• Sheets of plywood size (70 x 29 x 1.5 cm, 46 x 34 x 1.5 cm, 35 x 34 x 1.5 cm, 26 x 34 x 1.5 cm);
• A round magnet with a diameter of 2.5, and a thickness of 5 cm;
• 8-10 6-millimeter choppers;
• clear nail polish;
• Furniture glue;
• Face milling cutter ;
• Sandpaper ;
• Milling cutter for smoothing corners.

Operating procedure

Stand for knives in the form of a warrior is made in the following order:

• All the details are cut from the plywood in double quantity, since then they should be glued in pairs using chopiki;
• The main parts are fastened with glue and spines;
• A magnet is embedded in the helmet of a soldier, on which a device for sharpening knives will be fixed;
• Cover the entire product with varnish for wooden products.

Variant with magnets

Such a primitive stand for knives with their own hands can be made in just a few minutes. To do this, on a sandpaper treated with sandpaper and varnished logs fix small flat magnets in large quantities. Hang it on the wall and just "glue" the knives.
