One of the most popular drinks on the globe is liquor. The recipe for its preparation is known to many peoples. However, the composition of the drink varies greatly, its consistency, strength, and bouquet. And the way of preparation can differ depending on the components. A common feature for all liquors is sweetness and divine fragrance.

From the history of the drink

The liquor, the recipe of which we will present in the article later, is an ancient drink. On sale it began to be made in the Middle Ages. And his appearance is due to the elixir of life, or rather, to his seekers. As a result of various experiences of monks, alchemists and doctors, amazing drinks appeared, many of which are made to this day. Some liquors bear the name of the place of their invention, the religious order. Often these drinks are mentioned in tourist guidebooks, because they are considered a real landmark of a city or country.

What it is?

So what is a liqueur? His recipe in various versions, we will quote later, and now tell the reader about the characteristics of this drink. As a rule, it is very sweet (more than 100 g of sugar per liter of liquid) and contains ethyl alcohol in an amount of 15-75%. It is based on infusions of roots, fragrant herbs, spices, and also juices of berries and fruits.

The liqueur is given as a digestive aid, as well as tea and coffee (at the end of the meal). You can drink it in pure form, as well as a drink is often included in cocktails or other dishes.

Cooking ourselves

The original liquor, the recipe of which is kept in strict secret by the manufacturer, is worth a lot. But I so want to pamper my loved ones with something delicious! Many housewives prefer to prepare this drink on their own using different ingredients. The most popular in our region are cherries.

To prepare a cherry liqueur at home, you need a set of products:

  • 0.5 kg of cherries (fresh or frozen), with berries with bones and without them;
  • Leaves from a cherry tree in quantity of 200 g;
  • Half a lemon;
  • 0.5 kg of sugar;
  • 1 liter of water;
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar;
  • 0.5 liters of vodka.

How to make a liqueur? My berries and leaves, pour water and bring to a boil. Then reduce the heat and cook for ten minutes. Now it's time to add sugar and lemon and, stirring, hold on the plate as much as it does. The mixture is removed from the fire, filtered, cooled, poured vodka and bottled. In toga, approximately 1 liter of ready-made beverage is obtained. You can eat it, but if you let it brew for a week, then the taste will be much better.

Cherry liqueur is also prepared in another way - the berries are poured with sugar layers, pour vodka and insist a month in a dark place. And only then strain and pour vodka. But in this case, it is necessary to remove bones, since they contain a toxin that can provoke poisoning.

Sweet raspberry

It's not harder to make a raspberry liqueur. For him it will take half a kilogram of sugar and ripe berries, a liter of vodka. Raspberry is covered in a bottle and poured with vodka. Next, you need to close the neck tightly with a gauze swab and hold the container in a cold place for about a month. Now we are preparing syrup from sugar and 250 g of vodka. We mix both parts, filter, bottled and close. Raspberry liquor, cooked in this way, becomes so delicious, the longer it is stored.

There is another way of making a drink from this berry. You need 500 ml of juice from raspberries, a kilogram of sugar and 2 liters of vodka. Juice with sugar is brought to a boil, but do not boil (foam must be removed!). The mixture is cooled, add vodka, mix and bottle. You can drink in a month.

Strawberry ripe

You can prepare a liqueur from the queen of berries - juicy strawberries. The drink has a beautiful color and an amazing aroma. For him, you need 1 liter of alcohol, vodka, rum or cognac, 0.5 liters of water, half a kilo of berries and sugar. Now we sort out, mine and cut the strawberries in half, put them in a glass jar and fill it with liquor (the liquid should cover 2-3 cm of berries). We put the closed container in a sunny place for two weeks. After this time, filter and filter the mixture, add the syrup, cooled to room temperature. It is advisable to give the liquor to infuse for seven days in a dark, but not a cold place. And you can store it for two years.

This strawberry liqueur resembles the famous "Xu-Xu" - a German drink that appeared in 1997, and already conquered half of the world. Drink it preferably cooled, it fits perfectly with ice cream and sparkling wines.

Some general rules for cooking

There are a lot of recipes for this drink. But there are several general rules that must be observed:

  • Fruit-berries should be taken only ripe, washed and shuffled, without rotting;
  • To preserve the aroma of liquor, it is poured over small containers and sealed;
  • Store bottles in a dark place, open immediately before serving;
  • Before drinking, it is better to cool the liqueur or add ice cubes to the glass;
  • Serve a drink in small transparent glasses;
  • Alcohol must be of the highest quality, preferably take vodka without additives.
