How to learn tricks at home?

From time to time, people appear on TV screens, doing amazing things. In their hands an ordinary wooden stick passes through a thick glass, and colorful tennis balls appear out of nowhere and just as suddenly disappear. A deck of cards in skilled hands turns into an endless series of fascinating puzzles that you do not have time to figure out - so quickly one focus is replaced by another. An attempt to unravel the secrets leaves no other way than to learn the tricks yourself. But remember that this fascinating activity is not so simple, as it seems at first glance.

Foci with maps

The spread of the popularity of tricks with maps is explained, first of all, by the availability of the requisite necessary for showing. It is not difficult to learn tricks with cards - you get a playing deck, and the fun begins.

Props: a deck of cards.

External effect. One of the spectators shuffles the cards and verifies that the deck does not contain secrets. Dividing the deck of cards into 4 parts, offer three viewers to choose and memorize one card from the three parts of the deck. Keep the fourth part in your hands. The deck is reassembled, and an arbitrarily selected spectator hands the cards one by 3 equal piles, according to the number of cards conceived. The number of folding cards is chosen arbitrarily, but their number in each heap should be the same. The cards selected by the spectators are placed on top of each pile. Then the deck connects. Offering spectators to remove the deck several times, the magician makes a circular layout and names the cards chosen by the spectators.

The secret of focus in the fourth pile, left in the hands of the performer during the selection of cards by 3 participants. Remember the first card from the part of the deck that is left in your hands. Collecting the deck, put a piece of the card known to you from above. With further layout, it will be at the bottom. Then, when the deck is folded, after the spectators put their cards on each pile, it will be placed above the first one. Handing the cards in a circle, expect your appearance. The next card, and every fourth after it, will be those that the audience chose.

Foci with coins

Before you learn how to show tricks, determine the audience that you are going to surprise. For home screening tricks with the use of familiar objects will do.

Props: coin and matchbox.

External effect. Show an empty matchbox, open it, close it, shake it confirming that it is empty. Re-open and carefully remove the metal coin from the inner compartment. Pass the coin and boxes to viewers for inspection.

The secret of the focus is that the coin hides in advance between the moving part and the top cover. Pulling out the inside for inspection, discreetly hold a coin finger and press against the upper fixed part of the box. Closing the box, release the coin and it will fall inside. After that open the box and show the appearance of the metal coin that appeared there.

Table tricks

To create an uncomplicated illusion is not difficult, you just need to know how. Learn tricks help the simplest tricks, the example of which the novice sorcerer comprehends the basics of working with improvised props.

Props: a bowl of water and talcum powder.

External effect. In a bowl with water, the illusionist pours water from the tap. Ask to make this procedure one of the viewers - thus the public will have no doubt that the water and bowl contains no secrets. Ask the audience if it is possible to immerse a hand in a liquid and not to soak it. The answer is obvious, and everyone can try to do it. But the magician drops his hand into the water, and it remains completely dry.

The secret of the trick is in the colorless talc powder, which handled the hand. No drop of water will stay on the hand of a magician immersed in a liquid. It seems that the illusionist in the literal sense of the word managed to get out of the water. Instead of talcum, if you want, try using zinc stearin. It has increased water repellent properties.

Foci with ropes

After you managed to overcome the first steps in the art of illusion and learn tricks for beginners, try to make a special props yourself.

Props: a rope with a secret.

External effect. The magician shows a thick rope to the auditorium and is wondering if it can be made to take a vertical position. For the experiment, a spectator is invited who checks the rope and tries to complete the task. Then the magician takes the case. He tied a knot at one end and stretched the rope vertically. It releases the top edge (with the knot), and the cord stays rigidly on the arm in an upright position. A light blow to the center of the rope - it falls off and again becomes soft.

The secret of the focus is a specially prepared rope. From any thick cord, internal synthetic threads are removed, which serve as filler. The vacant place is filled with wooden cylinders, clad in a strong thread or line. The size of the cylinders corresponds to the inner diameter of the rope. The length is 25-30 mm. For a thin curtain cord, cylinders made of a round pencil with a pre-extracted lead are suitable. The number of cylinders depends on the length of the rope that they fill. On the one hand, the line with the cylinders is fixed to the edge of the rope, and on the other, a circle is attached to it, protecting the cylinders from slipping. The length of the line and the cylinders is somewhat smaller than the length of the rope. Due to this, in the loose state, the cord retains softness and elasticity.

Having tied the knot on the side with the attached fishing line, the illusionist with the other hand through the soft braid of the cord causes the cylinders inside the rope to move close to each other. On this basis, the outer braid of the rope will take a rigid vertical position. Striking the cord and relaxing the fingers, the magician lets go of the inner cylinders, and the rope falls freely.

Foci with shawls

To learn tricks at home is not work - the repertory of the amateur magician includes tricks for which large boxes or complex mechanisms are not required.

Props: handkerchief and matches.

External effect. The wizard shows a handkerchief. The audience sees that it is empty and does not harbor any secrets. The handkerchief is spread on the table and a match is put in the center, which the public first examines. The magician folds the handkerchief in such a way as to hide the match. Then passes the folded weave to the viewer, asks for a match and break it in several places. He takes the handkerchief, puts it on the table and unfolds it. In the center, the audience sees a match that remains intact.

The secret of the focus is in the second match, previously placed in the side seam of the kerchief. When demonstrating the props, the conjurer holds the cloth behind the corner where the second match is hidden. Folding the handkerchief and hiding the real match, the illusionist puts a corner of the kerchief in the middle of the cloth, in which is a "bookmark". It is her viewer who probes through the tissue and breaks. Naturally, with the unfolding of the kerchief, a whole and intact match is found in it.

Complex tricks with the use of special props

For the first illusion session, you will have to make simple devices that will help to show fascinating tricks. The beginner artist will not only have to learn how to learn tricks - be prepared to become a designer of some of them.

Props. Slate with a secret, notebook, pencil.

External effect. The artist shows a small black board in a wooden frame and says that this magic board can count. After that, he wraps it in a newspaper, seals it with adhesive tape and hands it over to the viewer. Then he takes a notebook and a pencil and asks 4 spectators to write in a column with one five-digit number. Tears a sheet of numbers from the notebook and suggests to another spectator to count and write down the sum of the numbers. Tear off half of the sheet with the result and leave it for the audience. She cuts the scotch together with the newspaper and shows the board on which the number written by the chalk appeared. Viewers check the answer - the amount on a piece of paper and on the board coincide.

The secret of focus lies in two details.

  1. The slate board consists of two parts. The board itself is in the frame and the liner, which is fitted to the inside dimension of the frame and covers the main part of the board. The outer part of the liner and the board are painted in the same black color. The second side of the liner is painted in the tone of the tablecloth table, on which the conjurer folds the props.
  2. The notebook should have a cover without a picture and it is easy to open from either side.

On the first page of the notebook, the magician writes 4 numbers in advance, counts their sum and writes them with chalk on the slate. Above, the answer is closed with a liner and the board looks clean. Demonstrating the board to the audience, the magician turns it away from the spectators, puts it on the table and wraps it in a newspaper. At this point, he drops the insert on the table and wraps the board, not showing the viewers the front side with the number written. For reliability, the newspaper is fixed with an adhesive tape, and the props are transmitted to the audience.

The magician asks four different viewers to write down the numbers in a column from the blank side of the notebook. Going to the fifth viewer to count the amount, turns over the notepad, tears out the sheet with pre-written figures, the amount of which offers to count the viewer. In order not to reveal the deception, the performer tears off part of the sheet with the amount and leaves it at the viewer. The second half, with the figures prepared in advance, puts it in his pocket. After that, he takes the board from the audience, removes the tape with the newspaper and shows the number written on the board in advance. Naturally, it coincides with the sum calculated by the viewer.

Applause! Surprise! Mistrust! Delight! And endless questions about how to learn tricks at home are guaranteed to accompany a budding illusionist after such a spectacular final trick.

A few tips

It is important not only to understand how to learn tricks. Follow the rules that will help build the program and profitably present the prepared tricks to the audience.

  1. Carefully rehearse each focus in front of the mirror. Achieve accuracy of gestures, confident work with props, prepare for possible surprises that lie in wait for you in front of the public.
  2. Do not tell in advance about what you are going to do. Knowing in advance what task you have set for yourself, the audience will closely monitor you, and it will be difficult at the right time to distract their attention.
  3. Do not show the same focus twice in the same presentation. When you re-view the audience, aware of the final result of the focus, will try to uncover your secret.
  4. Do not give in to persuasion and do not disclose the secrets of the tricks you show. The focus, the mystery of which is exposed, ceases to be surprising and mysterious, loses the aura of incomprehensible magic.
