Eastern belly dances and their magic
A person who first saw oriental belly dancing not on the screen, but in the hall, on the stage, can become numb from the beauty and fairy tale into which he fell. He loses his speech, hears nothing but a rhythmic oriental melody, and sees only the dancers moving with music, plastic, beautiful movements. The airy shine of the captivating finery, the languid, then ardent eyes of the performers and, most importantly, the eastern belly dances themselves are driving men and women mad.
A bit of history
A belly dance that has come from a distant past has its own history. According to art historians, it appeared more than 1000 years BC. Presumably in India, Greece, Egypt, Persia. First he acted as a ritual dance, dedicated to the goddess of fertility, the mother goddess. This is confirmed by frescoes found in ancient Greece and Egypt, manuscripts with drawings and descriptions of oriental dances, characterized by a special temperament and movements of the abdomen, hips, legs, shoulders. They were performed by the main priests or priestesses of the temples.
Belly dance began to walk around the world: Turkey, China, Korea, Vietnam, South America. Each people brought in something of their own, but the main movements: twitching the hips, vibration and shaking the abdomen, shoulders, legs - remained. It is known that the Indian gypsy dancers, traveling through the countries of the East and Europe, stopped in Andalusia, where the flamenco dance was born, which absorbed the elements of Arabic, Indian, Spanish, Gypsy.
In Europe, belly dancing spread at the end of the XIX century, thanks to the dancer Mate Hari. Sol Bloom brought this dance to America. True, they were presented by them in a striptease version.
The dance was changing. Gradually, from the ritual, the harem, the military turned into festive and entertaining, for her husband or a small number of spectators.
The decoration also changed. At first, the outfit was closing the body, decorated with a belt, a scarf or scarf tied to the thigh to emphasize the figure and show the specifics of the dance. Over time, clothes have become more open, open. An elegant bodice, a low landing (below the navel) of the costumes emphasize the waist and hips, just as before, every movement of the body is visible. I must say that today the costume for oriental belly dancing is quite expensive - up to 1000 dollars. Since the beads, bugles, rhinestones, coins, feathers and other decorations are sewn by hand according to the sketches of customers.
The dancer of oriental dance tells in her movements about beauty and inner peace, and body and life. It depends on her how the audience will perceive her idea - as an erotic or soul dance, chanting a woman-mother, a woman-wife, a woman-the continuation of the human race, telling about her love.
The dances of the East have always been expensive. To invite dancers to the event, you need to pay a lot, especially in some eastern countries the belly dancer performs and entertaining function: she is an intelligent interlocutor and a wise adviser, well recites poems, beautifully sings and accompanies.
