How does a person use the properties of water? Water in human life
Water is the basic element of life support for our entire planet. All living beings began their development with it. Few people know that there are a lot of types of water. They differ in their chemical and physical properties. People today successfully use the properties of water in a solid state. This vital substance is claimed not only in everyday life, but also in cosmetology and production.
Structured water
The human body is 80% water. This indicator may vary slightly depending on age and general health. Without food, many living things can exist for a long time. But without water, few people succeed. Although much depends on its quality. Scientists have long been interested in the question of why residents of mountainous areas have a good life expectancy. The solution turned out to be in water, which has a special composition.
Living and dead water
People know the healing properties of water since ancient times. Natural clean water, which is in mountain springs and rivers, can help in the treatment of a serious ailment, prolong life. It is customary to call it live. In nature, there is also dead water. It is in abandoned lakes and wells. Stagnant water, on the contrary, is a danger to human health.
Drinking water
In ancient times, there was no question of where to take water for daily use. After all, the ecological situation was not as serious as it is now. A huge number of factories and cars, global warming and population growth have done their job. At the beginning of this century, the deficit of drinking water has affected 40% of the world's inhabitants. According to the scientists' forecasts, this figure will increase significantly after several decades. After all, water in the river without preliminary cleaning can not be used in everyday life.
Fresh water
Fresh water is considered to be a minimum salt content. In some sources, this figure is only 0.1%. The water is not necessarily in the form of a liquid. It can also be in the form of gas or ice. It is worth noting that the reserves of fresh water on the planet are negligible and occupy only 2.5%. In this case only 1% is available to people for use in everyday life. How does a person use the properties of water? Everything depends on the ultimate goal. Fresh water can be used for cooking, for cosmetic purposes, for cooling appliances in production, etc. In most cases, salted water will not work.
Main sources of fresh water
First of all, water from surface sources is used. These are rivers and lakes. Pre-cleaned groundwater can also be used in everyday life. A part of fresh water is obtained from precipitation. A huge supply of liquid is found in glaciers (more than 80%). Global warming can lead to the fact that the glaciers will begin to melt, the amount of fresh water will decrease. And the properties of water in a solid state can be successfully used to preserve such a product necessary for life.
Tap water
Water in flats and houses comes through a special system - water supply. The liquid passes through several stages of purification. If the house is additionally fitted with a filter, you can drink water directly from the tap. The supply system is formed by means of metal pipes. The gaseous property of water directly depends on the quality of communications. The liquid with additional impurities quickly evaporates under the influence of high temperatures. To consume such water is undesirable.
Before water reaches people, it is carried through a purification station. Here it is defended, filtered through special gratings, primary and secondary chlorination is carried out. Such procedures allow to remove harmful impurities, save water from pathogens. If the work of the wastewater treatment plant is adjusted correctly, tap water can be used for food.
Rigid water
Tough is the one in which the magnesium and potassium salts are concentrated to a large extent. There are different types of water with additional impurities. This is a general rigidity, temporary and permanent. The total hardness is determined by the concentration of all salts in the water in the primary state. The constant can only be determined after boiling water. The amount of chlorides and sulfates is determined. These salts are not destroyed by the action of high temperature, nor do they precipitate.
How to determine the hardness of water?
There are several signs that will help determine if the amount of salts in the water exceeds the norm. Look at things after washing. If they become more rigid, and white color acquires a yellowish shade, it is worth paying attention to the composition of the water. Detergents can react with salts. This can be seen even during washing dishes. On the washcloth will be formed less foam, may appear white flakes.
Scum is the first sign of water hardness. If the kettle quickly accumulates sediments after boiling, it is worth considering the purchase of an additional cleaning device. After washing with hard water, a feeling of tightness and dryness appears. The liquid simply cleanses the natural protective layer of the skin. Soft water allows you to keep your face moisturized.
Deionized water
It is water that has gone through several serious stages of purification. As a result, ions of salts and impurities are removed from the liquid, the resistance level increases. There is no such water in nature. It can only be obtained through a multi-level cleaning system. First of all, water is passed through the filter. Then the procedure is carried out using ion-exchange resins.
Distilled water
Water for industrial purposes is purified by distillation. Thus, a liquid is obtained without harmful impurities and pathogenic microorganisms. It does not have to remember the useful properties of water. The fluid around the world does not have a similar composition. The problem is that in the purification process, it also gets rid of beneficial microorganisms. This water is also called "dead". Such a liquid has special physical properties. It has a low electrical conductivity, and also boils at a higher temperature. Distilled water is used in heating systems, when cooling various elements of devices.
Redistilled water
Bidistillation is another way of purifying water from impurities and microorganisms. As a result, an absolutely pure liquid is obtained. Such water has an electrical conductivity of less than 1 μS / cm. How does a person use the properties of water of this kind? First of all, purified liquid is used in medicine. For injections, water of high quality is needed. Such a liquid is also used in various laboratory studies.
