The most popular version is that the official order to bury Vysotsky at the Vagankovskoye cemetery was given from above , but in a completely unpopular place on the outskirts. Of course, such a proposal did not suit either the close deceased or his fans. And then Joseph Kobzon personally went to negotiations with the director of the cemetery, they say, he even wanted to bribe for the possibility of choosing a more worthy place, but this was not required.

Until the very last moment, the media did not report the fact of death, about which graveyard Vysotsky was buried in and when the official farewell will be held. Only a few newspapers in the USSR decided to publish brief obituaries. In the Taganka Theater, where Vladimir worked, a small sign appeared on the window of the ticket office, briefly telling about the death of the great actor. And so, on July 28, 1980, on the day when Vysotsky's grave was to appear on Vagankovsky without any noise, all Moscow residents reacted to this event. Since the morning on the streets of the capital came a crowd in order to say goodbye to the great actor and poet-performer. Many people carried live flowers and portraits of Vladimir.
