Group Hurts - a duet of Britons

British band Hurts (originally from Manchester) is a duet, which includes vocalist Hutchcraft and keyboard player, and in combination guitarist Adam Anderson. Their artistic striking videos of their own production are very well known. And some songs of these musicians are literally familiar to everyone.

The first group

The Hurts epic, dramatic pop music, takes their inspiration from a mix of influences and currents of contemporary music and music of the past, including 70's kraut-rock, a new wave of the 80's and the R & B 90's. After the meeting in 2005, Hutchcraft and Anderson formed several groups, including Bureau and Daggers, which later began to perform under the label Fandango. In 2007, with the inherent high energy of electro-pop sound, "Daggers" released the single Money / Magazine. Nevertheless, Hutchcraft and Anderson were not happy, they did not like the direction chosen by the group. A little later they decided to close this project.

Creating Hurts

Later in the basement studio, the duo continued his musical activity, already calling himself Hurts. The guys began to focus on a more streamlined, capricious and emotional sound, unlike the "Daggers", this project was a confrontation with pop music. Musicians first worked through the Internet with the Swedish producer Jonas Kvant. The band Hurts recorded three initial songs: Wonderful Life, Evelyn and Unspoken. In June 2009, Hurts created a striking black and white video of their own production for the song Wonderful Life. In July, they signed an agreement with RCA.

Musical activity of the group

In 2009 and 2010, the fans of the group became even more. This was facilitated by the release of several songs posted by the band on their MySpace page, as well as a video for the compositions Blood, Tears & Gold and Better Than Love. The song Wonderful Life, which was performed by the soloist of the band Hurts, began to constantly spin on the radio channels.

Without doing live performances, the musicians created their own collection of songs. And in 2010, the band Hurts gave her debut concert in Berlin. In the same year, the guys went on a tour all over Europe and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. In March 2010, the single Better Than Love debuted at number 50 on the Kingdom's singles chart. Also at this time, as if to mark how popular the band was, Hurts recorded the song Devotion with backing vocals from pop superstar Kylie Minogue. Hurts then released the hit single "Confide in Me" at the studio of Minogue for the website The Sun.

Achievements, awards and joint work

In August 2010, the Hurts team created the debut full-length Happiness collection, which was released for the first time at number four on the UK album chart. It sold more than 25,000 albums in the first seven days, making it the best-selling compilation album in the United Kingdom in 2010. Thanks to the singles Better Than Love, Wonderful Life and Stay, the album enjoyed tremendous success throughout Europe, and the popularity of Hurts grew exponentially. Several awards followed in 2010, including from BBC's Sound, the musicians won the German Bambi award and received a nomination for the MTV Europe Music Award. The following year, Hurts received higher public support after playing at the Glastonbury festival. The performance was well received and even recognized as the best part of the festival. In addition, in the same year the group began its own initial European tour, which ended with a concert at the Brixton Academy in London with a special guest Kylie Minogue.

In December 2012, on the eve of their next album and in accordance with their tradition to release stylish, "with the needle" video, the band Hurts released a promo video for The Road, which was inspired by the novel by Cormac McCarthy. In 2013, Hurts released their second album Exile. Thanks to the work of Hutchcraft and Anderson in collaboration with Quant and Dan Grech Marguerat, Exile demonstrated a subtle, slightly more modern sound that included more orchestral and rock music, but retained all the basic Hurts sound. In 2015, Hurts presented their third studio album, Surrender.
