Only in 1934 for these purposes was allocated an old mansion on Vasilievskaya. Later, his location several times changed the House of Cinema. Moscow allocated for him a place in the theater-studio of the actor, in the hotel room.

Finally, in 1968, it was decided to place a "film club" in the building that the architect Stamo created. In Soviet times, they showed the premiere of films, held exhibitions of photographs, theatrical productions. A lot of people could visit the Cinema House. The address in Moscow became permanent: Vasilievskaya, 13, not far from the Garden Ring. The auditorium was huge, it was designed for 1100 seats.
