All these details must also be made from the pipe, and at the junction points on the posts and the beam, additional hooks should be welded from the 2 mm steel sheet. Caterpillar

Those who did homemade mini-snowmobiles from a chainsaw, take caterpillars from the old "Buran". However, for it to function properly, it needs to be shortened (by 500 mm) and sewed with a transport tape. Gear wheels are made from a kapron sheet in 15 mm.

Drive shaft

It will be a tubular type with a diameter of 28 mm. On it it is necessary to put on a round flange with apertures for cogwheels. At the ends of the drive shaft, press and weld the full-length trunnion tips. The latter must be pierced under the bearings.

It should be noted that the left tip should be slightly shorter than the right one. On the elongation, make a key groove to fit the driven star of the 2nd stage chain drive. Steering
