Hematogen. Composition, indications, contraindications

Do you know what the hematogen is made of? This drug is made from defibrinated blood of cattle. In addition, it includes the presence of alcohol (ethyl) and sugar syrup. The medication is recommended by specialists in case of exhaustion of the body, anemia, malnutrition.

And what does the hematogen for children consist of? Unlike usual, in it there can be additional additives - ascorbic acid, the condensed milk, treacle, sugar, honey and many other things. It is not recommended to give babies younger than five years.

The energy value of the medicine is 355 kcal per 100 g of product.

Hematogen, the composition of which was described above, was invented in the late nineteenth century. It was then that the luminaries of medicine established that one of the main constituents of blood is iron.

That is why in the countries of Europe began to appear a variety of pharmaceutical products, based on iron and blood. The first of them was released in 1890 in the form of a mixture with bovine blood as the main component.

In Russia, the first hematogen, whose composition was not different from foreign, was produced in 1917.

What are the useful properties of this remedy? There are a lot of them:

• Normalization of hemoglobin and iron levels.

· Effective fight against anemia (the effect produced by the drug is similar to blood transfusion).

· Stimulation of blood circulation as a result of the valuable protein contained in the preparation with a large nutritional reserve.

· Promoting the normal metabolism, growth of the body and the functioning of the eyes due to the enzymes and vitamins contained in the medicine (especially a lot of vitamin A in it).

· Strengthening the membranes of the respiratory tract and digestive tract.

Moreover, the hematogen, whose composition is so valuable, can be used as an additive to food even by healthy people. The drug is also indicated for patients who have undergone antitumor therapy (radiation, chemotherapy, etc.); Persons who have suffered debilitating severe illness; Exhausted people.

The standard daily intake of this product for adults is fifty grams, for children - from twenty to forty.

Hematogen, the composition of which determines its high efficiency, is indicated for use in the following cases:

· When a low level of hemoglobin in the blood is detected as a result of the performed tests.

· To improve the condition of the skin if it is dry and inelastic.

· To restore a patient weakened by malnutrition.

· With frequent bleeding.

· With a significant lag in growth.

· To treat disorders of the functioning of the eyes in the complex therapy.

· During the recovery period after the transferred infections are of an infectious nature (influenza and others).

Contraindications to the use of this tool are as follows:

The medication is not prescribed for people suffering from diabetes, because it contains a large number of digestible carbohydrates. Hematogen is not recommended during fetal gestation, with thrombophlebitis, and also in cases of hypersensitivity to its components.

As a result of using the drug, there may be some side effects, among them liquid stools and a feeling of nausea. This is explained by the processes of fermentation occurring in the intestine, caused by easily digestible proteins that make up the composition of the agent under consideration.

It should be noted that the above undesirable consequences are extremely rare, in most cases, the hematogen has a positive effect on the body of adults and children.
