Guitar Ibanez: history, features

Today, Japanese Ibanez guitars are exemplary quality, chic sound and own style. The tools of this company were not always the property of the Japanese "guitar", the manufacturer went through a long thorny path in search of recognition.

history of the company

This company was founded in 1908, it was founded by Hoshino Gakki. Initially, the manufacturer did not create its own tools, but only imported what was created by the famous Spanish master Salvador Ibáñez. Already at that time his strings were in high demand and had some respect among the guitarists.

Years later, this situation changed, Gakki acquired a brand, and Ibanez guitars began to be produced in Japan, at the Tama factories. By the 1960s, production was partially transferred to the FujiGen factory (a Japanese manufacturer of guitars).

Initially, the Ibanez guitars did not have their own design and in most cases were similar to replicas of famous brands such as Fender or Gibson. This approach entailed a string of litigation (the design of the tools was patented). Naturally, it was unprofitable to sue indefinitely, as a result of which Ibanez decided to create its own design. Over time, two radically different models were presented: Iceman and The Roadstar.

A turning point in the formation of the company was cooperation with Steve Vai. Thanks to the joint work, there were two new tools - JEM and Universe. Later, the light saw a series of tools under the name RG, it was a more massive and affordable product with the design of SuperStrat.

Guitar Ibanez RG: features, design

One of the main distinctive features of the guitar is the body and an extended 24-fret bar. Despite the fact that the whole body is quite massive, all the important ergonomic properties are observed, there are bevels in important places (cut at the right edge and a recess for the abdomen). The main tree uses a lime tree (almost on all models of the series), this material allows you to achieve a more smooth and soft sound, cutting off excessively bright high tones and adding depths to low tones. The sustain is very long and full, as it should be.

The guitar's neck is thin, created especially for high-speed games. The mensura is 25.5 inches. As a lining, a rosewood is used, adding even more depth to the sound of the instrument. In the head of the neck is the legendary profile of Ibanez Wizard. Because of the increased number of frets, the location of the sensors has also changed, they have become closer, which can be disastrous for the game of those who are used to the greater space between pickups. Also, this fact influenced the sound of a certain sound.

Another feature of the guitar body is the AANJ-modified neckline next to the fretboard, created for more comfortable access to the upper frets. This system allows you to access the top frets, without sacrificing ergonomics, sound and strength, that's what distinguishes it from other similar ones.

As for electronics, many complain about the weak "pure sound" in the RG series, but only on models with brand pickups. The same guitars of the series that received name pickups have the widest range of sound and almost no weak spots.

Famous musicians who preferred Ibanez

Ibanez, like other guitar brands, has its own evangelists and endorsers, who for many are the face of the instrument. One of the most famous was the famous guitar virtuoso Steve Wai. In fact, they are much larger: Paul Stanley of KISS, Joe Satriani, Mick Thompson of SlipKnot, Fieldy from the group KoRn, Charlie from Arch Enemy and many others, including very young artists, for example: Virtuosos from August Burns Red or wild children from Breakdown of Sanity. All of them perform completely different music, but agreed that the Ibanez is the best choice for them: the variety of genres that is performed on these guitars is amazing.

Acoustic guitars, bass, amplifiers

In addition to electric guitars, the range of Japanese can be found and other types of goods, including bass guitars Ibanez, which are also in great demand among famous musicians and fans. A distinctive feature of the basses of Ibanez are deep bottoms and "sharpness" under especially heavy music, not in vain they are in demand in hardcore and metalcore bands. Also, the company boasts the production of high-quality acoustic and electro-acoustic instruments, which is worth only one electro acoustic guitar Ibanez V72ECE: the instrument can not be found, but at the time of release it was a terrific choice for acoustics lovers with a piezo sensor and really deep sound.

The manufacturer sells under the brand guitar amplifiers, belts, covers and other accessories of average quality, created basically for beginners.

Ibanez: reviews of guitars

To be sure of the quality of the Ibanez tools, it's enough to look at the list of musicians who trusted the company and their instruments. Owners of models of the middle price segment RG praise the tool for its versatility and excellent value for money. Those who own guitars from the Prestige lineup are completely ecstatic about the sound of the "stick" data, especially the seven- and eight-string ones. Owners of the same budget options from the line of GIO and similar are inclined to the opinion that "for their price is very even nothing." In general, no matter what you need, a power tool or an acoustic guitar, Ibanez will be an excellent choice and will cover all your needs with interest.
