Graphic dictation for preschoolers

The method "graphic dictation" is a drawing on the cells by a certain team given by the presenter, and is used both in the preparation of children for training in an educational institution, and directly in the primary school. This type of activity contributes to the development not only of fine motor skills, but also of voluntary attention, observation, thinking and other cognitive processes.

Graphic dictations for preschoolers are a kind of fascinating game, which, moreover, will bring a lot of benefit to children. Kids learn to navigate in space, in a sheet with cells, fix the concepts of "right", "left", "forward", "back." And the unusual drawing, which will be obtained as a result of the task, will be a kind of "prize" for preschoolers.

The teacher who conducts the graphic dictation, must observe several rules. Firstly, preliminary explanatory work is carried out. Children need to be told that today they will get acquainted with the new exercise, after which they will receive an interesting drawing or pattern.

Secondly, before starting the work, the adult (parent, educator) should put the point itself from the red handle where it is necessary to start. This must be done because only the teacher knows how much space will be needed for the drawing and where the lines will be directed.

One of the important conditions for successfully conducting a graphic dictation is complete silence in the room. It is necessary in the first place so that children do not get lost, since even the slightest mistake can lead to the fact that the final result does not work, and the motivation for such exercises can be reduced. If the lesson is held in a group, it is important to immediately discuss this point with the guys. In case of problems, the child should raise his hand silently, and the adult should approach and provide individual assistance.

After the teacher began to dictate the graphic dictation, he should not say any other words, especially, to repeat the task twice, especially during the exercise in the group. Otherwise, some of the children who perform the work correctly initially, can get confused and make mistakes. If a child gets lost, he puts a pencil (or pen) on the table and waits for the group to finish the exercise. Only after this is discussed, why someone did not manage to properly perform the task, we consider the work in which everything is done right.

Graphic dictation is widely used by teachers in primary school. This helps to develop spatial thinking and facilitates the organization of children for basic work. Exercise is performed, most often at the beginning of the session. Of course, the key to applying the methodology is the principle of "from simple to complex." That is, from the beginning simple patterns or drawings are given. "Filling" a hand on such exercises, children receive more complex tasks. In addition to the basic directions, it is possible to introduce the concept of "obliquely". One of the simplest graphic dictations from which you can start work is the following.

The children are invited to draw the cell down from the original point, then to the right, up, to the right, down, etc. You can not dictate to the end of the line, but when the pattern, according to which the pattern is organized, it is easy to determine, .
