Ford Fiesta - the pride of the manufacturer

In December 1973, the board of directors of Ford Motor decided to launch a project under the code name "Bobcat".

For quite a long time the company did not disclose the real name of the model, which entailed many different guesses, especially in the press. And only in 1975 at a press conference held in Detroit, Henry Ford publicly announced the name of the new model - Ford Fiesta.

In production, the new car was launched immediately at two plants, in Danton in England and in the German city of Cologne.

Ford Fiesta, belonging to the family of compact three- or five-door hatchbacks, began to be produced since 1976.

The engine installed in the Ford Fiesta is compact enough and stands in the compartment across. The radiator is located in front, which, with the purpose of providing thermal conditions at low speeds, is equipped with an electric fan.

It should be noted that the body of the first generation is made of steel of different thickness: from thicker on the supporting parts and thinner on the panels.

Generally, the Ford Fiesta can be proud of its salon, considered one of the most ergonomic, spacious and comfortable in the class. A large luggage compartment is formed when the rear seat is removed.

The mechanical coupling drive has a compensation mechanism for stretching the cable, as well as an installation for optimally idle pedal travel. All pedals, including brake, gas, clutch, are made in the type of suspension.

The ignition system, equipped with the Ford Fiesta model, is quite simple: it is contact, has a classic interrupter and a distributor. The same can be said about a carburetor, single-chamber with a mechanical starting drive.

The controls mainly focused on the steering wheel. These are switches for turns, light modes and a windshield wiper.

Ford Fiesta of the very first generation, which characterized pot-bellied sides, square nose and rounded openings, in 1983 underwent significant modernization, which led to the emergence of the 2nd generation.

Changes in the first place concerned the transfer of the car, which has become more smoothed, as well as lighting and interior.

"Charged" version of this hatchback class "B" is the model Ford Fiesta ST. It is built on the basis of the restyling version of the 6th generation. The debut of this car took place in early 2012 in Geneva.

Even a very brief look at this model Ford Fiesta is enough to immediately understand that this is not quite an ordinary car. And it's really like that: it's specially made for those who enjoy the speed or dynamics.

The difference between the usual modification of the hatchback and this Ford Fiesta is visible on its front. Absolutely other bumpers, optics, a weather-cloth - all it was possible to draw to designers. However, and on the stern can be found many interesting developments.

And as for the interior of the handsome Ford Fiesta, reviews about which are mostly positive, it is primarily characterized by the presence of sports seats, a combination of red and black, pedals and plates, rather indiscreetly announcing that this car belongs to the ST family.
