Fasteners for plasterboard: frame and types of auxiliary fasteners

In modern conditions, when decorating premises, a metal profile is widely used . From it, a frame is constructed under gypsum board, which can be made in several levels (for example, two- or three-tier ceilings). The metal profile was used as a fastener for gypsum board for a long time, using auxiliary components: crabs, T-shaped and U-shaped connectors, suspension (straight and spring), connectors for extension.

The most commonly used part for fixing the frame under the gypsum board is a straight suspension for CD-60. With it, the profile is fixed to the wall or ceiling. An extension connector is used to fasten two or more profiles to one. Crab is used for "splicing" the building profile at a right angle. When you need to create a framework for gypsum board in two or more levels, use a U-shaped connector. Suspension with a spring is used to fix the profile to the ceiling.

Some of the described details, for example, an extension cable and a T-connector, are used by builders very rarely. But without such assembly elements as self-tapping screws and dowels, it's hard to imagine high-quality fasteners for drywall.

There are several types of clamping fasteners for the building profile:

1. Self-tapping screws for metal. Used to mount drywall to the profile. Usually, self-cutters of 25 mm length are used.

2. LM self-cuts (bugs, fleas). It is these small screws that connect the profile with the hangers, etc. The fastener for gypsum board involves the use of auxiliary parts (crabs, hangers, connectors). All these details are attached to the profile by screws LM.

3. Quick installation (dowel-nail). Used to install a guide profile. Under the pressure of the nail, the plastic part of the quick assembly breaks, firmly pressing the profile against the wall.

4. Press washer. Also used for joining building profiles with each other. It is a replacement for the LM self-cutter in the manufacture of external works.

5. Self-tapping screws for wood. They are used for fixing a building profile to gypsum walls (gypsum partitions), as well as for the construction of a frame made of wooden blocks and fixing plasterboard to them. They are also used to connect sheets of drywall with each other. Due to the wide turn of the screw, the self-tapping screw on the wood perfectly fastens the plasterboard slabs.

When installing gypsum board, one of the most pressing issues is the proper thermal insulation of the room. Manufacturers of building materials provide a wide choice of thermal insulation: expanded polystyrene plates, polystyrene, mineral wool, polymeric heat reflectors. Fasteners for thermal insulation can be of different types, depending on the thermal insulation material used.

High-quality fixture for plasterboard is an important component of repair and construction works and a guarantee of their high quality. However, do not forget that the level of professionalism of construction workers is also of great importance.
