Homeliness, Do it yourself
Facades for the kitchen with their own hands. Facades of solid wood for kitchen. Standard dimensions of the facades of the kitchen
In many ways, our mood and desire to return home depend on the interior of the housing. You can talk about this for a long time, referring to the research of various scientists and designers, but this is already understandable.
Of course, the opportunity to buy a set of solid wood mass is not at all, but making the facades for the kitchen with their own hands is quite realistic. In this case, you will not only save a lot of money, but also give a unique identity to the interior of your home.
What can they be made from?
- Solid wood massif.
- Varieties of particle boards.
- Glass.
- Aluminum alloys.
- Varieties of plastic.
Wood-fiber plates
Particleboard and its similar materials allow you to become the owner of a modern and beautiful kitchen, spending the least money for this. To the plates this is today a very ambiguous attitude. However, if there is no money for the facades of the array for the kitchen, you still do not have much choice.
But it's not so bad. Modern industry produces hundreds of varieties of particleboard, protected from the environment by decorative films and laminated coating. Note! Buy wood-fiber plates only from normal manufacturers, as counterfeits can be very dangerous for your health. In addition, cheap varieties are not suitable for operation in conditions of high humidity, literally falling apart in just a couple of years.
Array
All the facades of the array for the kitchen are most noble and expensive look. They are durable, easy to repair and restore. In addition, such facades are completely safe from an ecological point of view, on which masters can apply exquisite carving.
The disadvantage is that you need to understand the breed of wood used. Cheap varieties of wood not only do not have a beautiful structure that would look perfect under the varnish, but also do not possess the required durability.
Metal
When you want to update the facade of the kitchen with your own hands, pay attention to aluminum and aluminum alloys. This material is actually eternal, perfectly holds the shape, does not rot. Aluminum is indifferent to the increased humidity of the air. In recent years, some designers have decided to create kitchens entirely made of this remarkable silver metal. Of course, such an interior organically fit into your house only if you are a fan of Hi-Tech style.
Glass
By the way, if we talk about this way of decorating kitchens, then the glass will inevitably come to mind. Especially it will look great if you supplement the facades with a solid for the kitchen. The combination of wood, glass and steel will always look modern.
The main advantage of glass is that it is not afraid of moisture, acids and alkalis, it can easily be wiped off from burnt fat without leaving any traces on the material.
But do not forget about his fragility. Be sure to glue the inner surfaces of glass facades with reinforcing film, which will reliably hold the fragments in case of some accident. However, an excellent way will be to make them from plexiglass, which is much easier to handle and completely safe to handle.
We make panel doors
First you need to find or buy a board 1.8 cm thick (from which the frame will be made) and a plywood thickness of at least 6 mm. From it we will make the panel itself. If you want, you can replace the plywood with glass, aluminum or plastic. If the plywood is not too high quality, it is perfectly permissible to glue it with decorative films.
In advance, get all the equipment you need to work: electric jig saw, feather drills for hinges, drill, plane.
Principles of calculating the dimensions
It is very important to correctly calculate the dimensions in order to make beautiful facades for the kitchen. You need to measure the size of the openings with your own hands. The received data are used to create a door.
- The height of the doors (as well as the side racks) must be 3 mm less than the height of the opening.
- The width of racks and crossbeams can be taken at will, but they must necessarily be the same.
- The width of the doors should also be 3 mm less than the size of the opening. If you plan to make two doors, then each takes 1.5 mm.
- We learn the required length of crossbeams. To do this, take the width of the door, subtract the width of the racks, multiplied by two. To the obtained value add 2 cm.
- The width of the panel is equal to the length of its cross-bars, taking into account the addition of 1.5 mm to these dimensions.
- The height is determined as follows: take twice the width of the crossbeams, after which we take this figure away from the height of the doors. To the resulting value, add 2 cm.
Manufacturing of blanks
Doing façades for the kitchen with your own hands, pay special attention to the correct manufacturing of blanks. It often happens that one missed a trifle or an inaccuracy in the measurements forced subsequently completely to remake the ready-made kitchen cabinet.
So. First of the above 18 mm thick board, you need to cut a pair of columns and a pair of rails onto the frame. Do in them grooves depth of 10 mm, and a width of 6 mm. We recommend using a special saw blade for this purpose. Before you try it on your workpiece, check the real depth of the cut on some unnecessary piece of wood. It happens that the adjustments of the instruments do not correspond to real results.
Using the same saw blade, you make the necessary groove samples in your particular case. Taking a plywood, plastic or aluminum, do the panel according to the measurements that were given above. After this, you can proceed to cut the studs on the crossbars of the doors. The width of the stud is 6 mm, the length is 10 mm. Ideal for their sawing a groove disc.
Machining of structural elements
All the details are thoroughly ground. Having fixed the posts on the panel, and fitting the crossbeams on top and bottom, try to completely assemble the entire structure. If all the elements of the construction are found one on the other with some effort, then you have done everything correctly.
Once again, assemble the door. Repeat until all the parts begin to tightly and exactly fit together. Do not overdo it, because if you waste your face, you will have to re-sharpen the damaged part.
Only after all the elements of the construction will approach each other perfectly, lubricate the spikes with glue and collect everything clean. Excess glue must be quickly and carefully cleaned with a damp cloth.
Leave the door alone for at least a couple of days. When the glue is completely dry, the joints are thoroughly ground. After that, the facades can be varnished or painted. Finally, fasten the accessories to the finished door and install it in its rightful place.
Please note that painting the facades of the kitchen (it's very easy to do this with your own hands) should be carried out only with the use of environmentally friendly compounds. After all, and in the kitchen you will deal with food, so that the excess chemistry in the food is surely no good!
A little about the dimensions of the facades
Of course, the subtitle looks pretty stupid. What size can we talk about when we are making kitchens for our own apartments? It would seem that you can show your imagination here without fear of any restrictions!
Alas, but this opinion is fair not in all cases. Arbitrary facades for the kitchen, the size of which you customize for the characteristics of your room - it's good, but are you ready to pay a lot of money for the built-in equipment, which will have to be ordered for the same measurements?
So, if you are interested in the standard dimensions of the facades of the kitchen, then the height of the lower base is calculated by the following formula: 713 + 4 + 28 + 100 = 845. All measurements are in millimeters.
A measurement of 4 mm is the distance between the front and the table top. The 28 mm size is the thickness of the countertop itself, and 100 mm is the distance from the floor to the box. As you can guess, all the above values are valid for fronts with a size of 713 mm.
The height of the upper base is calculated by another formula: 900 + 2 = 902 (mm). In this case the size of 2 mm means gaps on the bottom and on top of the front. Accordingly, its height is 900 mm.
Of course, the standard dimensions of the facades of the kitchen are quite valid for the width of these modules. For example, if the height of the lower edge is 713 mm, then its width is calculated as follows: (296х2) + 6 = 598 mm. In this case, the distance of 6 mm is the width of the gaps on the two doors. The width of each is 296 mm.
I think the general meaning is clear. If you have the opportunity to adjust all sizes to the generally accepted requirements, it is better to do it. Subsequently, you will save a lot of your time and money.
A little bit about colors and care
Having dealt with the measurements and other technical information, you can talk about something more beautiful. We will talk about which colors best color the kitchen. Of course, the case is purely individual, but still designers have some generally accepted recommendations.
What can I say about the required care? The most difficult thing is maintaining the facade from chipboard and other chipboard. Since they have an unpleasant habit of swelling from high humidity and getting liquids, you should wipe them dry in case of any contamination. To wash out fatty stains it is necessary a soft flannel cloth, moistened in a saturated soap solution.
Glass and metal are much more unpretentious in this regard. In their case, you can use hard jaws or even metal brushes. However, it is better not to bring the situation to the necessity of their application. These facades for the kitchen (reviews about which are positive) are especially in demand in restaurants where the level of daily contamination with food residues and burnt fat is very high.
So we learned how and from what you can make a beautiful and functional kitchen.
