Childhood and the beginning of a career

As it often happens, parents sent their little Zhenya to the athletics section to direct the son's energy into a creative channel. Olympics in Beijing

The pole jumper Evgeni Lukyanenko went to China as a favorite of the Olympics, and many predicted victory for him. Unfortunately, the athlete failed to win the gold award: he stopped a step from the highest achievement. A young and promising athlete rose only on the second step of the podium. He did not have enough to win a few centimeters, nevertheless, as many critics would later note , it was still a good result for an athlete who only recently started performing in the international arena.

In 2009, an unpleasant event happened in the life of a young man, which marked the beginning of a series of setbacks in personal and sporting life. Eugene became the culprit of a tragic and large-scale road accident. He was behind the wheel of his car and, according to the official version of the State Traffic Inspectorate, failed to manage. At this point in the car, in addition to Lukyanenko, sat his friends - the pregnant Irina Kovalchuk (friend of fellow athlete), Anna and Alexei. As a result of the accident Irina died, and Anna became disabled.

The silver medalist of the Olympics was threatened with punishment for up to eleven years of imprisonment. After some time Alexey Lyashenko, who said that he was behind the wheel, was guilty. But the witnesses will argue that the famous athlete drove the car. Some experts linked such a turn of events to the fact of detection in the blood of Eugene alcohol.

In the end, it was Alexei who was judged. Perhaps the reason was that Yevgeny's father was not the last person in the Krasnodar Territory, and the sportsman persuaded his friend to take the blame.
